Installation

My car - 2001 Mazda 626 has a hump in the middle back seat area. Right now my daughter is in a graco snugride and it is installed in the middle. I've noticed lately that the seat is beginning to lean more towards one side (I think that's from the sealt belt though, we need to go uninstall and reinstall with the seatbelt clip.) I was just wondering if that hump in the back seat will be a problem for a convertible car seat. I would assume that middle back seat is best, but is it ok to install the seat on one of the sides?

The hump should be ok with most convertible seats, but I haven't tried in that car, so I don't know for sure if you will get a good installation.

Is it a lap/shoulder belt and you locked the seatbelt? That can make the Snugride tip and usually is solved by using a locking clip instead.

Any place in the backseat is safe. The middle generally is safer, but I'd use one of the sides if you cannot get a good installation in the center.

Thanks so much! It is a lap/shoulder belt and it is super tight which is why I think the seat is leaning more towards one side. We had that clip on before and it wasn't doing anything so I think we must have had it on wrong. We'll have to go out and reinstall it today with the clip.:)
