Serenade and Flex Loc observations

Not much new on the Flex Loc, actually, it's just black and yellow to match the double sit n stand at BRU, but there's a huge, obvious sticker on the side saying 'The handle must be rotated down behind the seat during travel' (uh, or something like that, at any rate, I'll have something I can point to people easily now when they are comparing pros and cons).

The Serenade... well, I dig the handle, it's really rubbery on those corners when you hook it in the crook of your arm  And since they were the ones who invented the 'one inch rule' for the head below the top of the seatback, I was thrilled to see a picture of what that looks like (top of the head and a little line drawing up to the top of the seat). You can tell it has EPS foam...because the slits in the fabric for the infinite harness are SO HUGE. Ugh. I hope they line up pretty well with bundle mes, because no one's going to want to put their baby on those big slits (now I'm wondering how much spit up will be in those seats after a kid or two? ugh), they'll buy the BM's, and if it fits well, I won't have to fret that the kid is in mortal peril from aftermarket padding . It has that same cool little headrest the Embrace has (which seems to work great, I've seen lots of babies using it, no head flop). I like the airflow-mesh on the sides of the canopy. The handle for the base release seems more sturdy than the Embrace, but still weird you push it towards the seat instead of pulling it up like other seats. The level indicator seemed really obvious and simple to understand (green...green is a good color, Graco could learn something from that on the Snugrides ).
The chest clip said, 'place at armpit level', I guess all their seats do, and it's tiny, not like their old infant seats with the mondo-huge clips.
Yeah, NannyMom's right, the harness straps are way short. Nope, no way is a 35 pound bouncing baby going to fit in there...but I guess small babies can't ever be too loose? Oh, I'm an optimist, aren't I? lol.
Funny that Evenflo has about THE hardest harness height adjustment (rear adjust embrace) and now THE easiest seat to adjust the height on. (I'd count the seats with dials, but really, this is so obvious for joan Q parent to get...).

And the Serenade is regularly $149, but it hit the floor on sale at $129. I didn't see a matching stroller yet.

Wow, good for your store for having it onsale. It hit my local BRU for the regular price, and was still regular price when I was there yesterday (unless they just didn't post the sale price).

Hmm... I didn't even think about spit up getting in there. Yuck!
