So when did they change the design of Locking Clips?

I found an old locking clip. It was under an old car seat, manu date of Aug 23/99 and it has a little hole in it. When did they change them? And is this one ok to use or should I just put a chain through the hole and rock it as a necklace? :p
Ok, really though.

I've had kids in seats since 1996, and I've never seen one like that.

Curious - what brand seat was it?

I'd be tempted to make a keychain out of it :)

It was an old booster, one of these guys:

I'm not even sure why it has a locking clip. I thought everyone decided against using boosters & locking clips?

Maybe it was ok back then?

It was used with that one because the lapbelt HAD to hold the shield snug. Then the shoulder belt went behind kiddo.

PITA is what it was, really.

That's just the Dorel clip, all Cosco/Safety 1st/Eddie Bauer seats have that kind (last I checked). It's still generic, if you want to use the one with the little hole, it's ok to use it on any other brand of seat. Combi had a powder coated black one, it's unique in my collection of several dozen locking clips :D

I snagged one of them bad boys (seat) at a garage sale! I brought home six nasty/expired Cosco/Dorel/Evenflo seats and now have a small collection of those funky LC's.

I have a few Dorel locking clips from just a few years ago that look just like that. They may still, I haven't checked the one on my CA or Avenue...

I also have quite a collection of locking clips.

I always thought it was funny that my Evenflo ones say not to use it with any other brand seat other than Evenflo. Uh... in this case, it doesn't make a difference. The locking clip never touches the carseat, so it doesn't matter what brand it is. They are generic.:p

I've got that same one sitting on my sewing table right now... makes me proud that DH knew it belonged to a carseat!

I can tell I'm a tech too... I don't have the seat that belongs to... uh... All my seats have locking clips in their little spots on the backs of the seats. lol
