Nicole Kidman's accident

Did you all hear about Nicole Kidman's accident while filming her new movie? IMDB has an interesting little clip about it... (see link)

The IMDB story says that her 10-year-old co-star was in the passenger seat and NK was in the driver's seat of a Jaguar attached to a rig (to simulate NK's character driving) when the rig operator lost control and the Jag ran into a pole and then knocked over a trash can.

I'm sure they weren't going fast at all, so there is probably very little to worry about, but I thought IMDB's report of the story was interesting... they mention how the crew immediately wrapped NK in a blanket and how paramedics checked NK for injuries, but there is no mention of what they did for the kid. Granted, I know he isn't a star and NK is, so IMDB probably isn't going to worry about mentioning what was done for the kid. I just thought this was interesting. :)

Well, it sounds like everyone was ok, and the article did say they were both wearing their seatbelts. Many 10y/o's are big enough for the vehicle belts (although not supposed to be sitting up front, but that's another issue in a Jag  ), so perhaps he was appropriately restrained. I wonder if the "aliens" were CGI or real people? No mention made of aliens flying willy-nilly off the hood of the Jag when it crashed... :D

I couldn't get the above link to work, even after taking out the extra "http://" :) , but... while trying to view the vidoe, I did see a story about Brandy being involved in a crash a few weeks ago where someone was killed: http://www.tmz.com/2007/01/24/brandy-causes-fatal-car-crash/
I thought that the rule was basically "when you hit someone from behind, it's your fault". Yet I bet nothing becomes of this.

I fixed the link in my post...I don't know how it got all funky! lol

I heard about the Brandy accident, too. My local radio station actually played some of the 911 calls from that accident....Brandy was driving pretty eratically!

I watched the show "Extra" last night, to see if they would report on either of these, and they did, on both. Yes, there were *several* actual humans on top of the vehicle in NK's accident, NONE of which were commented on. Other than mentioning that her young costar was in the vehicle with her and also uninjured, NOTHING was said of anyone other than her. Hubby and son Connor were on set apparrently, and she spent about 2 hrs. in the hospital, but went back to the set later that night. Not *too* shaken up, obviously.

The one with Brandy and the fatality, just mentioned that the family of the deceased does not at this point plan to pursue a lawsuit. I can't remember if they said she was being cited in the accident, but it did say that she rear-ended the car in front of her, and started a chain-reaction accident or 3 or 4 other cars.

I am so glad that everyone was okay in the NK accident, but I still think it is strange that they don't really even mention the other people involved. I completely understand that NK is the star, and therefore people want to hear about her, but it looks like there were lots of others involved too. They are important too! :)

Did anyone read the comments under Brandi's accident? I was getting so angry and sad while reading the comments. I can't believe anyone would get so harsh to each other over this.

My goodness! YOu are right! I can't believe people would say things like that. Wow.

I was really disgusted with many of those comments. People can be so unfeeling. I guess they weren't brought up to realize how ridiculously moronic statements like that make them sound, either.

YOu are right. Making comments like those do not make you sound tough, they make you sound much worse. It is sad, though, that some people feel they have to make comments like that. How sad.
