Okay... my 8 mo is about 20 lbs, 27"..

currently:

-MA that will expire in 2011 (DOM 3/2005. does it expire in 3/2011 or do we have til 12/2011?)

&

-Safeseat

We will eventually need 3 seats, one for my car, dh's truck and my mom's car once I'm back to work in March...

I am planning on ERFing until at least 35 lbs/3 years.. and we'll see after that. (my ODS was 48lbs @ 3...)....

My "dilemma" is this.. I'm a britax girl.. ODS went through 2 MAs, and 2 regents.. I LOVE THEM...

However, as far as i can see they still only RF to 30 lbs here in canada? I just sold some baby stuff and now have $270 for a new seat for LO. he is fine in the safeseat right now in the truck for short rides.. so I'm really in no rush.. but i can't just sit on this money i want a new seat NOW lol.

So.... seeing as how i'll eventually need 3 seats...

there is a MA on sale right now for $240 (reg $299)... would you get it?? I LOVE my MAs... LOVE THEM.. and then this could be the LEAST used seat once he hits 30+ lbs until he FFs.. and then when the other MA expires i could get a higher RFing seat.... I'm planning on using the Safeseat in my mom's car til he hits 30 lbs..

I want the MA really bad.. but i need someone to tell me it's worth it , since it doesn't RF past 30 lbs... or should i just get a TF? (thats waht i'll get for the other two seats eventually)... or does britax have plans to make their seats RF to higher limits? should i wait??

TIA!

I love my marathon/2 boulevards, but I like the TF better because...

WAY WAY WAY more room rear facing. DD can't get RFing in a Britax because the seat is too shallow, but has at least another year in her TF. The cover is nice, and the premier versions plastic rebound bar keeps a lot of the dirt from shoes off the seat. The cup holder is great too. Adjusting the strap height is simple and takes literally 2 seconds, so you really can use this seat for multiple kids easily. It has the same latch connectors as Britax.

If I had it to do over, I'd get TFs every time.

Very few people here will recommend a Marathon: other seats last longer both forward- and rear-facing, and test better (although tests are far from comprehensive and may or may not represent real world use, they're all we have).

I would most definitely get the True Fit over the Marathon! I would look into the True Fit Premier for the Anti Rebound bar though. I'm not sure what the price is for that one. The True Fit offers so much more room than the Marathon
