Is there somewhere I can do this online (or can I buy the manual)? I have a long list of cars I want to look up. I want to find out how many dedicated LATCH positions (lower anchors) and how many TAs for each car, specifically MY's 2006 or 2007.
CHEVY SUBURBAN
TAHOE
TRAVERSE
DODGE DURANGO
ford expedition
excursion
GMC ACADIA
YUKON
INFINTY QX56
KIA BORREGO
LEXUS GX
LX
MISTUBISHI OUTLANDER
MAZDA CX-9
NISSAN ARMADA
TOYOTA HIGHLANDER
LAND CRUISER
SEQUOIA
SATURN OUTLOOK
SUBARU TRIBECA

Thanks!

ford expedition 3 LATCH, 4 TA total
excursion my manual only lists up to MY 2005, which have 3 TA
GMC ACADIA
YUKON 40/60 bench models: 2 LATCH, 4 TA total; bucket seats: 2 LATCH, 3 TA total
INFINTY QX56 2 LATCH, 3 TA total

MISTUBISHI OUTLANDER 2 LATCH, 3 TA total
MAZDA CX-9
NISSAN ARMADA 2 LATCH, 3 TA total
TOYOTA HIGHLANDER my manual only lists up to MY 2006, which have 2 LATCH, 3 TA total
LAND CRUISER my manual only lists up to MY 2006, which have 2 LATCH, 3 TA total
SEQUOIA my manual only lists up to MY 2006, which have 3 LATCH, 5 TA total for bench seat models; 2 LATCH, 4 TA for separate seat models
SATURN OUTLOOK 2 LATCH in the second row with additional TA in the center of the 2nd row bench; center TA on the optional third row, so 2 LATCH regardless of model, and # of TAs varies
SUBARU TRIBECA five passenger model: 2 LATCH, 3 TA total; 7 passenger model: 2 LATCH, 5 TA total

Thanks!

My manual is a 2007, and doesn't have all of those models listed, which is why I skipped some. I filled in what I could.

The LATCH manual is put out by Safe Ride News and is available through their website.

Corolla has 2 LATCH, 3 TA total
Blazer has 3 TAs. TAs are the tie downs nearest ot the seat, not the ones at the liftgate. The owner's manual states not to put a CR in center position in MY-01 through early MY-03. A CR can be installed with a safety belt in the center if it can be tightly installed, even though the owner's manual says not to. These positions have been tested with CRs. Some CRs will not fit well as the distance between the seat belts is somewhat narrow. The later MY-03 manual was updated. All models can have a CR in center if good installation.

What if the carseat covers both ends of where the lap belt comes out in the center possition (essentially the seat is wider than the belt path)? Is it still okay to install in that possition then, as long as you can get a tight fit? I would love to be able to use the center position in my blazer :) . Also, since I've never used latch before, when I install using latch in the corolla, do I have to install the seat outboard or can I install in the center? Thanks so much for helping me!!

Toyota doesn't allow anchor borrowing, so even if your seat does you need to use LATCH only in the outboard positions in a Corolla.

It's in the LATCH manual. The publisher/writer of the LATCH manual, Safe Ride News, talks directly to the manufacturers to get their information.

By all means, contact the manufacturer yourself. Don't take the word of a random internet stranger who is repeating what some book says the manufacturer says.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't install if the carseat covers the seatbelt anchor points, as long as you can get a good install. It might be a bit tougher, but not a safety concern as far as I know.

Gah! How frustrating. I'm trying to find an SUV with a towing capacity of >5,500 lbs that will seat at least two large dogs,
three adults and two car seats comfortably. I would prefer it to seat the dogs, four adults and four car seats. I need LATCH for at least one of my dogs because she unbuckles seatbelts.

Dear Automotive Makers,
Please, if you're going to make vehicles that seat many people, make it so we can install car seats in all rear positions. LATCH and TA's in all positions
Thanks,
Frustrated Car Seat Loony.

I don't even care about LATCH that much. It's nice to have another option if seatbelt is difficult, but the basic function of LATCH can be replicated by the seatbelt. Tether anchors there's no substitute for. I want tether anchors in every rear seating position, possibly every seating position that's not the driver.

I only want LATCH for the stinky dog. She routinely unbuckles seat belts by stepping on them. If I'm forking over the cash for a newer than 9/1/05 vehicle, then I want enough LATCH anchors to use them for her!

So is the Honda Pilot the only 7-9 passenger (3 row) SUV with TAs for all rear seats? My Pilot has 6 TAs.

I just realized the MY 2002+ Ford Explorer also has TAs for all rear seating positions (whether 2 or 3 row). I'm not sure how I've missed that all this time, but that's one more. It only has lower anchors second row outboard, though.
