and if i DO go ahead and get a radian....

which one do you think i should get? i have a honda, so can't use the superlatch anyway, correct?? b/c honda is only latch to 40 pounds? that would have totally sold me on the sl...i love how easy latch is to install. hmmm, maybe we should buy a new car, too. ;)

i can't seem to find any other good reasons for the sl? they both have side impact protection, right?

thanks!! now i have the "itch" and i'll probably get one. :D

It depends on who you want to listen to. If your car is newer than a DOM of sept 1 2005, then it meets the new latch strength tests, and sunshine kids says you can use the superlatch for the full 80 pounds, DESPITE your vehilces usual 40 lb latch limit.
to the best of my knowledge, the vehicle manufactureres have not yet issues any statements about the SK assertions that you can us ethe SL all the way to 80 lbs.....so we don't really have an authoritative answer.
Honda says their LATCH limit is 40 lbs. SK says screw that, it's good until 80, if made after sept 1, 2005. so...... ?????????????????? ya.
If your vehicle is older than that, it's completely a moot point, since SL wouldn't apply anyway.

The only other reason to get the SL over the plain xt is if you want the extra 5lbs of rfing weight. My kiddos wouldn't last to 40 let alone 45 lbs in a radian rfing anyways.

All 5 point harnesses provide side impact protection. Add a hard shell around the child, and you've got more SIP. Having headwings (on the XT and XTSL) increases SIP even more.

But the number one thing you can do for SIP, by far, is to keep your child rear facing for as long as possible.

Even if you can't use the SL, getting an 80SL or XTSL would allow you to rear face up to 45 pounds with the seatbelt install.
