my 2.75 year old is 32 pounds, so i know he'll be out of his RF Boulevard soon. I was all prepared to turn him FF in it after he turns 3 (i'm sure he'll make it at least that long until he's 35 pounds). but now that it's so close, i'm just not sure i'm gonna be able to turn him. we drive a half hour to and from work each day, so he's in the car a lot.

i would just go ahead and get a radian, but i've heard that it's hard to get them tight in the harness, etc. my parents will be using the seat as well and they even have trouble with the BLVD, which is SUPER easy in my opinion.

should i try the radian and see if i like it?? or just suck it up and FF him??

I would get a Radian if I were in your situation...actually I was :p My 2y/o outgrew his Blvd. by height and I got him an XT and I LOVE  it. For the harness, what I do is tighten it and leave it. But if you don't want to do that then what you can do is; first do the chest clip and before doing the crotch buckle tighten the harness to the correct length THEN do the crotch buckle. Reason being is because if the harness is completely done then yes its hard to tighten

Umm, yes, I umm, can't talk you out of one, since I just did the same thing:eek: Ds will be 3 in JANuary, and was 31 pounds in a diaper, traveling in a 33 pound britax. Are you sure your boulevard is a 35 pound seat? I got a radian xtsl. But need to rearrange my van again! IT takes up a lot of room front to back rear facing, so you may want to see if you can try one, first. OR, you could look at a myride 65, if he has height room left in the boulevard, or the complete air.

Do your parents use the seat in their car or just take your car? You could always get a Radian for your car and put the Blvd in theirs for them to use.

i should add that when i moved him from his infant seat i bought 2 diplomats, one for my car, one for my mom's car (a very uneducated purchase - i had no idea what i was doing)...then when he outgrew them RF (like 6 months later - ugh!!) i bought a boulevard for my car and a true fit for my mom's car. i love the blvd and it's less than a year old, so yes it's a 35 pounder.

each time i do this i THINK i'm making the wisest choice, but then i end up buying new seats to last him longer RF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he's rarely in my mom's car - 95% of the time when she has him, she's driving my car. i plan to use the true fit FF in her car.

is the radian the best bet on height for longest use?? is that why someone was recommending the complete air or my ride only if he had lots of room on the blvd?? he has probably 2 inches (well, probably a little less) RF on the blvd.

i guess i just wonder...is there a point where i have to just stop worrying and act like 99% of parents out there who turn their kids around on their 1st bday?? not that i want to do that, but know what i mean?? is this overkill? we don't have lots of money but i've never considered NOT spending money on a carseat - $200 to save my kid's life is OBVIOUSLY worth it.
