Need ideas - Grandma's car

I hoping to get into a grad class this spring, but that will mean my mom will have to pick up the girls from daycare 1 day a week. Since the girls go to my school's daycare, they have to be picked up by 3:35 pm (ratio numbers with the school age kids coming in). My dh won't get home from work until after 4 pm, so my mom will come get the girls the one day per week. Here's the car seat dilema. I will have to let mom have the GN for my 4 yo; it will be a pita when we need the spare to go get it, but that would be rare. DD2 has a MA and MR. I was planning on selling the MA (Barnum cover) to help fund Christmas and because she is really getting crunched in it anyway. The dilema? Grandma has an old-style Triumph she could use, but dd2 is over 30 lbs. She's probably between 31-32 lbs, so she may not have a whole lot of rf time in the MA anyway. Do I go ahead and sell the MA and grab a Scenera for grandma's car? Keep the MA since I have it anyway? Would you grab a TB for my 4 yo (46 lbs) - grandma's seatbelts lock? The carseats will be in and out of their car each week as they will not want to leave the two seats in permanently. I do trust my dad's installs - I have never seen a carseat get in so tight as how my dad gets it done. I just thought the TB may be easier so they wouldn't have 2 to install, but I'm not sure... Anyway, any ideas after my rambling?

Any of the above sound like reasonable solutions. My only hesitation is about putting a newly-4yo in a booster. How long is the ride? Have you done any booster training yet? Will she sit properly for Grandma?

I'd keep the MA for another year... if you can, install it with latch... it'll be so easy to pop in and out because of that.

I'm most concerned that she could get sick and drop below the 30lb weight minimum... and that she's only 4... and only JUST 4 (in November, I see).
I would give her one more year, but then I'd be okay with it for booster training and lock the belt on her.

The drive is 6 miles, so I am hesitant to put my 4 yo in a booster, so grandma will probably get the GN. It's my youngest that is 30ish lbs - which means she is too heavy to rf in grandma's old-style triumph. Grandma has an older car - 96 Lincoln Town Car, so no LATCH and no top tethers. I'm not going to ask her to retrofit top tethers, and since the GN doesn't require it, I'm fine without top tether for those shorter drives. At least the seatbelts in the Lincoln lock at the retractor. I hate dealing with the MA's rfing lockoffs, and I know they would pose problems for grandpa's arthritic hands.

I would probably use the GN for DD1 and use the MA for DD1, until she hits 33 pounds (then get a Scenera).

I definitely like the GN for the 4 yo.

For the little dd, I'd rather keep the MA than get a Scenera for a grandparent. I bought a couple for my sitter, but she has a heck of a time getting them installed rf. I need to get her some noodles.

I already have a barnum cover, but only one shoulder pad and no belly pad (got it here missing belly pad and lost one shoulder pad).

My spare covers are Olivia and Ashley Floral
