Which seat to travel with?

We are heading out Fri and I am still undecided on which seat to travel with.

We have a Blvd, Radian 65 and possible EFTA if it gets here in time.

I will also be using a travel mate.

We will most likely be on a C-5 or C-17.... Most likely they will be installed on the fold down netted seats.

I will try and post pics from last time we flew once I find them.

I will be taking with me River KF30 with no base, and a seat for Seth. No stroller and no booster for ds1. Also 2 carry-ons then the boys will each have their own bags with sleeping bags and pillows.

Help Me decide

Well, the Radian is heavy, but not a huge amount heavier than the other 2, and easier to carry on/off a small plane-- I don't know if it works with the Travelmate though. Boulevard fits anywhere but is more awkward to carry. I'd install either one FF on the plane.

Will Johnathon have a booster at the destination?

No he isn't going to use a booster.

Okay just being a smart butt. LOL... ;) Please forgive me.

Yes he has a FPSV booster my in-laws will be bringing. Makes my life a little easier. :)

The Radian can be installed on the Travel Mate. I already did this. I am leaning more towards the Radian and I can just throw the base in our luggage. Also will will be in a Chrysler T&C so I am pretty sure it will install on the cpt. chairs.

Here is a pic of Johnathon on one of the seats.

They will not be in the seats the entire time so FF would definetly be easier for Seth.

I just hope the Radian installs semi-tight on the jump seats.

I think, looking at the seats, the Radian would be easier than the Boulevard to deal with for sure.

I figured that you'd either have a booster at your destination, or not be taking anything but public transport. Just wanted to make sure. ;)

I put Radians in my in-laws' 98-ish Grand Voyager (twin to the T&C) without a problem-- captain's chair passenger side was easy and fairly upright. So if theirs is of a similar era I'm sure you can, and if it's newer it might be even easier. :)

Great... Then Radian it will be. :)

I wonder if the KF30 will do okay with nothing under the front of seat? I decided it will be easier without the base and the less we have to take the better.

I am getting exhausted thinking about this trip.....

Looking at the seats, it might be close, but I think you'll be fine with the Keyfit-- it looks like it would probably just barely meet the 80/20 rule.

I mean, they're side-facing seats, anyway. ;) I would not sweat it too much if the install is not perfect... Just secure enough that if you get turbulence it will hold the kids down.

I would also do the Radian and the keyfit.

And looking at those seats makes me happy that my days of flying on C-17s are in the past.

I dread it. Last time we flew I went to stand and couldn't. My hips were so stiff from those dang seats. UGH.

We are each packing a sleeping bag and travel pillow to lay out on. It will make the trip so much more comfortable.
