Wings on XTSL

So, I was looking at the Radian XTSL:)o Only because the Flora is sooooo pretty) and um, what is the point of the wings if they can't be used with small babies? Someone on here has a siggy pic of a small baby with the wings way at the top. That looks ridiculous. (Obviously, posters child doesn't look ridiculous. :) ) Why would they design it like that? Oh and why can't the Flora come on the SL? :D

I would love flora or petal on an 65SL or 80SL... I would be sold in an instant. Not so sure about the head wings either.

Well, personally, I don't see a need for them for the little littles. Tiny babies' heads fall at the widest part of the shell, generally. So there is quite adequate head containment. The wings are most beneficial, to my mind, once kids start getting tall enough to get near the tapered top of the shell (and also their heads get bigger front to back and come out of the shell more) and at that point the head containment is not as great. (I can't wait to get my 3 year old into an XTSL.)

Maybe if the wings are allowed to go down that far, people would fold the seat with them down, and they'd prevent the seat folding or break?
But I also go with the 'side impacts are the problem for FF kids, RF kids don't need that protection, really'

True, but it still gets me. I think it was mentioned before that the head wings would get in the way of folding if they went down farther.

Just below the channel that the wings move in is the anchor point for the top tether. My theory on why they don't go down lower is the top tether (with a little bit of folding theory sprinkled in).

Ok, I understand WHY they don't need to move down, but it still looks ridiculous. If the flora came on the 65SL, I would have ordered yesterday. LOL
