Informed for Life??

I think I remember reading on here that the scores on Informed for Life will change as more numbers get input...is that correct? My car just got added a little while ago but only has numbers for 4 out of the 9 tests. So when the other test scores come out (and are hopefully good

) will the score go up? Thanks!!

depends on how good the test scores are!

i think that in the absense of a test score, informedforlife automatically defaults to the average score for all vehicles (or vehicles in the same class as yours? not sure of the two). i'm sure darren can clarify.

if your car's particular test in question ends up scoring above the average, the informedforlife score will go up. if your car's test scores below the average, the informedforlife score will go down. you can play with the data inputs and see how your car would do with hypothetical test scores for any of the input variables used by informedforlife.

Yes, missing results are replaced with an average rating. It may not be ideal, but it beats some other previous composite reviews that assume the top rating for a missing result, thus putting some vehicle into their "Best" category, until the missing tests are released and the car did poorly a few months later.

As SPB said, you can enter your own scores in their calculator to find the composite with the new results. You can also email them and they usually make updates pretty quickly.

it basically compiles crash data and fatality data and ranks cars based on existing data from different sources.
