Reasons not to booster a 3 year old?

Little boy O I nanny for is currently 3 (birthday in Feb) and 41lbs. He rides in a combination booster (probably a cosco) seat and mom just started using the seatbelt (harness only goes up to 40).

Mom needs a few convincing points as to why she should invest 140 dollars into buying a Graco Nautilus for him.

Is there a rule where technicians can't buy car seats for other people and get reimbursed? I've never done this before... does graco even have a technician order form?

Very few companies that I know of have tech order forms. I've always bought my seats either online or in a big box store. And I've paid full price for most of them (one was given to me free by a company, two were paid by an insurance company post-crash).

The Generations 65 is down at BRU and it's $99. That may be a little easier to consider. The Apex 65 is on sale again for $90. http://www.albeebaby.com/sa1stap65boc.html

I wouldn't buy seats for the parents to use in their cars. Sell them some of yours, sure. Buy seats for my car to drive them around in, sure. But not buy for their car. Highly recommend certain seats, go shopping with them to point out fit and check it in the car before they buy, sure. But they'd be the one handing over the plastic.

Thanks Wendy. Their car is a Subaru Forester. Post latch, maybe 03? 05?

Does the Apex work well in the booster mode?

As with any other, it's better on some than others. It's a wider seat and so it may not fit petite kids very well as a booster. It needs support behind it from the car, but a Suby of that age will have that.
