Not loving my Radian. :(

I got a Radian 65SL last month. Unfortunately, I really am NOT loving it.

I wish I could sell it but I doubt I'd be able to get back anything close to what I paid for it. :( It doesn't install upright in either of our cars. In DH's car it makes the passenger seat unusable. In my van I have to hug the steering wheel for it to fit and honestly it's hard to drive and just not comfortable. :( I've read all the install tips and I've tried everything to get it more upright but it just takes up SO much space. Also, DD is already on the third slot RFing at 14 months. I just like my TFP so much better.

Any ideas??

What vehicles/positions are you installing it in?

2006 Honda Odyssey, all three middle seats (8th seat and captains chairs)

2007 Honda Accord, all three back seats

We've tried LATCH (not in either middle position since you can't borrow and the 8th seat doesn't have LATCH) and seatbelts.

You could try to sell it here or locally to fund a Complete Air? How much does your DD weight?

I don't think I've been here long enough to sell it here. I could put it on CLs but I live in a pretty small town so I'm not sure if that would work. I have a TFP for DD so I wouldn't need to replace the Radian (it was a secondary seat but we don't have to have it). DD weighs 22lbs and is 33 inches tall and pretty long torsoed (third slots on the Radian).

I just called diapers.com where I bought it from. I didn't know they would return a seat for full ticket price?!?! They are letting me return it. :D

try a seatbelt install in the center of the middle seat in the van. It should either be center our passenger side outboard. You really shouldn't be that close to the steering wheel. :twocents:

if you install with seatbelt in the center it will more then likely kind of hover between both front seats.

I got the regular (not SL) Radian installed nicely in my boss' 2006 Odyssey. But it was passenger side, so it didn't move her driver's seat. It was kind of upright, I liked the angle for her 10 month old. Can you put it on the passenger's side?

I have an older style Radian 65 installed in the passenger side captains chair of my 2007 Odyssey with LATCH. The captains chair is pushed to the center position. It's not the most upright install but it fits fine front to back. I'll be replacing it with a Radian 65SL after Christmas. I'm hoping I get a similar (hopefully more upright) install.
