Evenflo Bolero

I just bought an evenflo bolero for my almost 4 year old son. He was in an Eddie Bauer 3 in 1, but is almost 40 lbs. The bolero goes up to either 47 or 48 lbs (in Canada) and we are on the highway 2 hours everyday. In my mind - better to be safe than sorry!

What I am looking for is the good/bad on this car seat/booster (or the Generations - I believe they are similar?)?

He hasn't used it yet, I have it installed in our 2003 Saturn L200 - but was having a hard time getting the LATCH to stay attached - I'm going to go out and yank on it some more - maybe try moving him back to the middle or try securing it with the seat belt instead....

Any comments, suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated!

We recently got an Evenflo Generations for my mom to use as a spare for my dd in her car. It installed pretty tightly and easily for me with LATCH. We didn't try the seatbelt.

My mom had a little trouble getting used to the harness tightening knobs on the side, but once she figured it out it was no problem, and I kind of like them (I've never had a seat with those before).

The crotch strap seems a little short and that makes it a little harder to buckle than some other seats I've used, but it's not that bad at all. My dd seems to like it and has a good amount of growing room left. It's really soft on the sides, and I like that the armrests flip up to make getting her in easier. The cupholder is kind of flimsy, but we barely ever use it, so it's not really an issue for us.

I haven't played w/ it much, but I know I reccomend it quite a bit b/c it makes a good booster later which most combo seats don't. I think it only goes to 47#.
