Oops just saw your PM now. I got about 17.5. Plenty tall enough for a 40 lb seat

That's okay! Thanks for verifying :)

Do you think the depth (shoulders and head) is overly narrow? It would be for my almost 7yo and 4yo (same weight- 35lbs, one w/15in torso, one w/14in torso) 7yo DD is super skinny and petite, DS is normal width, so I'm wondering if it would squish him?

No, I don't find it narrow at all and there is lots of crotch space which is nice! My 6y/o is now using the YS in booster mode and she loves it! She sleeps really comfortably and her shoulders arn't squished at all. Here is my then 4.5y/o who was 45" tall at the time and about 38lbs. You can see how much room she has:

And here she is in it now in booster mode:

Depth wise and width wise its great as long as your kid doesnt have any hangups with the headwings (mine didnt). DD2 has sat in it and is wide and had plenty of room

The crotch room is awesome ane the crotch strap is really long which I love. No fishing for it which to me is not fun on a potty trained child

When she outgrows it i plan on keeping it for a booster since it makes such an awesome one!

thanks so much for the pics- they are great

my dd who will be 7 in jan is about 42" tall, 35lbs, so i'm confident that she'd fit. i love love love the fit of the booster- that's primarily why i would buy it for her. we have a monterrey for her, but the fit isn't great and i need a seat for her for daddy's van.
