Question Cheapest Harnessed Booster with High Shoulder Harness Height?

So based on some feedback on my original post here:
    http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.p...54#post1069754
I recently bought the Evenflo Generations 65 from BRU. I got an amazing deal - $70 w/ tax- on it because I was able by some small miracle to stack three coupons. But I got it home and my DDs shoulders are about even with the second-highest slots. Im really worried shes going to outgrow it next year, as the highest slot is 15.5. My DD is now 3 yr 7.5 mo, 39.5, 36.5 #, 13.5" torso. SO she is a big girl, and Im looking for the cheapest lightest booster with the highest shoulder harness height. Normally she is in the Frontier, which we LOVE and have two of one for each car. This seat will only be used for travel a few times/year, so it needs to be light & cheap. Any ideas?

Are you sure you raised the head rest all the way? I know I did that with my bolero (cheaper verson of the generations) and missed entire harness settings. I was so confused why I measured and I knew what slots he was in on one seat but it changed so much with another seat.

You defiantly won't get as much room as the frontier, but remember that 2in of growth room in a car seat typically equals 4 inches of total growth (as long as your kid isn't like mine who only seems to grow in the torso).

Light, cheap and higher harnessing seats don't exists. You can have cheaper and heavier, more expensive and lighter or lower harness heights and be light and cheap. I think other than the Generations the Nautilus would be the next lightest of the higher harnessing seats.

The Safety 1st Go Hybrid Booster will be lighter and has tall slots (my daughter has more room than in the Radian with it, in the same position-- well, the Safeguard GO which it is the same as)-- but it's not cheap. (You also can't use it without a tether.) You might score a deal on an older SafeGuard GO if you asked on Swap or hit a clearanced one at a local store. You're not going to get anything as cheap/cheaper than what you spent unless you get it on Swap, for sure.

Oh, or the Ride Safer Travel Vest is an option. It's light, long-lasting, and you can get a size Small for under $100 (I think around $85 last I checked.) They don't expire, which is a nice bonus.

ETA: Here is the RSTV for $90-ish. If you check www.retailmenot.com you might have luck finding a discount code.

Yeah - you're missing a slot... for sure.

My 6 year old still fits even with the second to top slot and there's one more slot above that. I get more like 18" of height (not measuring... but based on other seats). My headrest has trouble pushing up that last slot... stick your fingers up between the headrest and the seat and see if you feel another one. If you do... just pull harder on the headrest...

I will look for another slot but I only saw one more when I looked at the back to re-thread it. This post has more information about the heights, and the model is very similar in stats to my DD.

What is the lowest you've seen for the GN? I thought that would be the best alternative but I don't want to pay that much for it. I'm not really interested in a vest- I'd like a seat.

Re: Cheapest Harnessed Booster with High Shoulder Harness Height?

Some people were finding clearanced GNs for $100-ish or even less at Target, but they're PROBABLY all gone by now. $130-145 with coupons and sales is a more average "good buy" on the Nautilus.

I have to say I LOVE my RSTV a lot. I can see it being a pain if I were to use it every day-- but for travel/occasional use it really is great.
