I worked at a check yesterday sponsored by a local insurance agency and the Spanish-speaking readio station. We were targeting our Hispanic population, and were very pleased with the turnout.
One couple came in with their three year old in a Britax MA. They had gotten it at a yard sale. It was no longer wearing a Britax cover, but instead had a Scenera cover like this stretched over it with a pink snuzzler in the seat on top of that.
How the child sat on it, I'm not sure. I speak no Spanish at all, so I don't know if they bought the seat with that cover at the yard sale or how they got it like that. The interpreter didn't relay that info.
Fortunately, it was also expired and they were willing to give it up. I hooked them up with two new seats (they were coming to get that one checked and get a new seat for their second car), and they let me have the seat for demo purposes. They removed the covers, and I didn't take a picture of the set-up because I didn't want to embarass them, but it was really interesting! I explained importance of using a specific cover made for a specific seat and not using aftermarket products, and they were really receptive.:thumbsup:
