i need your help!!

I have a 2005 toyota tacoma, it has pretty roomy 2nd row, but would like some opinions!

I currently have a graco carseat (not sure model, but a regular toddler type) and will be needing to put in 2 infant seats in the upcoming months!

is anyone familiar with this situation? will they all fit SAFELY?

will it take up less room if i don't use the infant seat bases (or maybe just use 1 base, and one without- thats a lot of work putting in the seats each trip!!)

with the infant seats, are there any brands that are smaller than the others (i know the britax toddler seats are HUGE- im so glad i have a graco!)

and the big question is : what order should i put them in?!?!

toddler in the middle, infants on either side...
or toddler against the window, infants side by side?!?!?

if you have had to do this or have any ideas, let me know ! thanks! i appreciate it! :)

Well, first of all, how old is the toddler using the Graco ComfortSport, and how tall and heavy? The CS has the lowest top slots of all convertibles and is usually outgrown by most kids at age 2 (when shoulders go over top slots the seat is outgrown), so you'll need to replace the CS before your child hits 40 pounds and is ready for a booster.

The Baby Trend infant seats are pretty narrow, so is the Graco SnugRide.

Generally you want to put the least protected child in the most protected seating position, so that would be the forward-facing child in the center and rear-facing child(ren) outboard. All of that is dependent on good installs, though.

I don't think I would try to install one of the infant seats each time. I have put 2 snugrides and a FF convertible in an older 4runner. It was tight, and I think my hands were bleeding afterwards, but we got them in. The pp mentioned the least protected in the center. I strongly recommend going to a store like BabiesRUs and trying the installs before you buy. Good luck, sounds like you are going to have your hands full.

I am a nanny to twins and i used to have their infant seats in my car. They were snugRide seats. I could fit them both next to each other one in the middle and one behind me and than a FF seat next to that. I have aslo have the infant seats on eather side and the FF seat in the middle. The only thing you will need to thank about is if you will be able to get the child in the middle out of his seat without hurting yourself each time. I would try to fit the infant seats outboard if you can. And like the last person said go to BRU and try it out if you can.

The Graco ComfortSport may possibly actually take up more room on the vehicle seat than the "huge" Britax convertibles you are talking about. The Britaxes sit up on a little base, which can help with puzzling seats together.

I think the ComfortSport is a great seat for a very specific group of kids (over 30 pounds or too big for RF but under the height limit for the CS FF). Because the harness slots are quite low in the CS, most children outgrow the seat long before they are ready for a booster. How old/big is the child using the CS?

If you are willing to buy a new convertible, and want a narrow seat, I would investigate the options of the Sunshine Kids Radian (harnesses to either 65 pounds or 80 pounds depending on the model. 65 is MUCH more reasonable for that seat) or the Safety 1st Interra, used without the base (harnesses to 40 pounds), which is quite narrow when used without the base.
