On another forum in a toddler check in thing we had done someone put their 2.5 yr old is in a booster already, not harnessed booster but with the cars seatbelt booster. Can someone point me to some statistics why they should still be harnessed? I know WHY but something showing it....I truly doubt rear facing would even be an option though I know that's what yall would recommend but if they won't do that why should they atleast keep her in a harness

Is the child over 40 pounds yet? I feel, for me, it makes a difference on how hard I push to reharness, if you know what I mean. There are just so many people that WON"T even think about spending another 100-150 dollars on ANOTHER seat just to keep their kid harnessed. It is sad.

The little girl is 38lbs. If she was say 3.5 I wouldn't be as shocked but 2.5? I've read from the ladies here that most kids aren't mature enough for a booster until around 5-6 but that the minimum is 4 and 40lbs...she is neither :(

I'd show Belle's Gift (linked above) and provide links for the Evenflo Generations 65 (not a good booster), Nautilus ("last seat you'll ever buy," probably really), and the Evenflo Maestro (not quite available yet-- no data on booster fit) to show that there are HWH seats out there that aren't excessively expensive.

If they don't respond to that, they probably aren't worth your energy to argue wtih. :(

I'm a moderator of the forum and decided instead of calling her out to make a thread with tons of info starting from rear facing through booster age, from where harness should be, when they are outgrown, recommendations, videos, 5 step test...everything I could think of. In that thread it was kids ages 1-3 and mine was the only one still rear facing, which I guess really doesn't surprise me, but I thought everyone could benefit from the information and hopefully avoid a confrontation all together...hopefully she reads through it and decides to put her back in a harnessed seat
