hello! i love how knowledgeable everyone here is, so i'm am back again with another question. my son will be 7 in january and his stats are 65 lbs, 52" and i wasn't sure where to measure shoulder height. i had him sit and from his shoulder to where his legs bent (make sense?) was 15" and shoulder to floor was 18". his primary seat is a frontier, but very occasionally, my dh will want to take him somewhere in his jeep wrangler. it's usually too much of a pain to switch seats, so they have to go in the van. what would be a good choice for something to keep in the jeep for those quick trips?

thanks so much for any info!!

If he has a torso height of 18" he's probably about to outgrow the Frontier as a harnessed seat as well. Or is he currently using it as a booster?

In any case, the old Graco Turbobooster (don't forget the screws in the armrests!) makes a great booster, especially for a second vehicle :)

On the more pricey side, you could consider the Britax Parkway SG, the Sunshine Kids Monterey, or the Clek Oobr. :)

he's still harnessed in the frontier, since he's not *quite* to the limits. do you guys think it's better to go ahead and switch him to the booster setting?

Well, I'd start 'training' him now, so he'll be easily able to transfer when it's time. Kids who go cold turkey from harness full time to booster time usually don't do that well...too squirrelly :p

The turbo comes with screws to put the armrests on but many parents don't realize they need to put them in.

Yes, the turbo is at target, wal-mart, and K-mart.

Good Luck!
