So I had the MR installed rfing in DH's car passenger side. I had the front seat way forward since no one usually ever rides w/ him. Well, yesterday he gets home and the front seat is pushed all the way back - he gave his buddy a ride to lunch!! The MR was pushed up toward the ceiling (almost demonstrating what rebound looks like). The base of the MR was 1/2 on the seat (near belt path) and 1/2 up in the air. DH didn't loosen the carseat or anything! Please tell me it's probably ok and didn't stress the belt path too much. There is no way I can afford to replace it right now. MEN!!!!! The dumb*** that rode w/ him has his tiny 4 yo in a booster (has been in one for over 6 months now), so he probably didn't think at all. Obviously, my dh didn't either!! ETA: DD was not with him at the time, so it was unoccupied, if that makes a difference.

Yes, men, I tell you! Mine every time he gets in the car racks the front seat back by slamming his back into back of the seat rocking my 2yr old seat!

Take the seat out and give it a thorough inspection for stress marks, particularly around the belt path but everywhere else as well. Then reinstall it in the same position, and try flipping it up (rebound) and see how much force it takes. Some seats flip up pretty easily, some don't really flip at all. That will give you an idea of how hard it was flipped.

You are not alone... Same thing happened with my DH and his buddy. DS's MA was installed in the RF center and the passenger seat was pushed into it causing it to be pushed all crazy to one side. I hope your seat is OK.
