My 6 month old is on the top slots of his SS1!

I just moved Gavin to the top slots of his SS1 today. Do I have the only kid here that is probably not going to make it to even a year old in the SS1?:(

Here are some pics I just took. I removed the top portion of the cover so you can see how much hard shell he has left above him.

Nope, you're not alone. My YDS was officially big enough to go into a MA (10" bottom slots) at 3 mos, and now at 10 mos, he's nearly tall enough for the second harness slot already. I haven't done the ruler through the slot trick yet. He may actually need to be moved up already.

Well, they do only claim to get 97% of kids to a year... Maybe he'll grow only legs now and you'll make it through the worst of winter in it?

:)

Wow!! Those are some long torso kiddos :) So cute though! My son is tiny... He still fits in a snugride by weight and height at almost 14 months.... I can't imagine a 6 month old being as tall as yours.... I bet he will be tall as an adult too :)

HOLY LONG TORSO!!!! He is just adorable!!! I just love seeing pics of him.
The little girl I watch still can fit in the safeseat at 20 months. (She rides in the FPSVD though). Logan would of made it to almost 3 in it if I had it then.

He's so adorable! I can't believe how high his head is in his seat and that he's on the top slots already! DD2 is around the 90th% at 11 months and 23.5 lbs and she's just shy of the 3rd slot. Here's a pic from last month

We have a 3%er at our house too. She needed the middle slots at 4 weeks and moved up to the top slots at about 7 months. She's pretty much at the height limit now at nine months and has moved into the Decathlon. I am so, so, so glad I bought the SafeSeat to use with her.

He's so stinking cute! He's bigger than Evan was when he turned 1. W/out a cloth diaper Olivia is even w/ the 2nd slots, she's 9 mos on Thurs. :) I can't find a good pic of her in her SS1, but here she is 2 wks ago in the MA, just under the bottom slots.

Wow! DD is in the 90th for height, but still good in the middle slots. In a cloth diaper(99.9% of the time), she is even with the second slots on the RA50!

You know, I worried at 6 months about torso growth, being as my boys both were on the top slots of the keyfit for some time by then, but it did seem to slow down. The 2 year old might have made it to 9 months in the keyfit, and the 1 year old 7 months.

Welcome to my world and to the SS1's 3%, long torsoed club. :) DD2 needed the top slots in the SS1 not long after we got it for her. She was 6 months old and had outgrown a Baby Trend LATCH Loc by height in the middle of the winter when we decided to get the SS1. She outgrew the SS1 by height entirely right before her first birthday.

What the heck are you people feeding those boys?!

Seriously, they are adorable! Gotta love the big long torsoed babies

My standard answer is usually "Oh I put Miracle Grow in his food." :D Most people in public see my kids and say "OMG He's HUGE!" Hey thanks, I hadn't noticed. If I'm feeling pleasant, I'll respond, "One hundred percent mommy milk till six months, then anything they want to eat plus mommy milk until 18 months!"
YDS will happily eat an ENTIRE chicken breast plus veggies for dinner or 2-3 eggs plus fruit for lunch or snack. He isn't much of a breakfast kind of guy though. He nurses about half an hour before we get up.
