I am trying to choose bw a Recaro Signo or a Britax Boulevard. I have a 8 month old 19 lb baby with Spina Bifida. He also has a shunt. He is not very long, more of a round baby :). I would like a seat that has great side impact protection and that he can rear face in for a long time. I really like the features and look of these two seats, but I am having a hard time in choosing which one. I drive a 06 Nissan Murano, if that matters. Please help me choose a seat for my sweet baby, as he is going to outgrow his Chicco seat very soon.
Thanks!!

I've read of other parents using the Recaros for SN kids because of the great support in it. Also, I'd think the Graco MyRide would also work well. It has great recline and support plus a higher RF limit (40 lbs) than the Blv or the Recaros. Not sure about the Boulevard. It does have great SIP, but overall, the other two are probably more supportive IMO. Ill let others chime in though.

I vote neither. I'd look at the Graco My Ride instead. It has a higher rfing weight limit than either Britax or Recaro, and has better side support for a low tone child as well.

I agree with this completely. There is a mother on this board of a SN child. She has low tone & the My Ride supports her beautifully. I also LOVE the fact that it has a 40lb RF weight limit on it. It also has nice deep side wings to keep the child contained. It is overall a very nice seat!

Hi from another SB mom! :happy-wavehello:

I wouldn't go for the Signo, especially if he has braces in his future. The Signo has next to no leg room. The BLVD has a little more, but not much. How low is his tone? Do you think he needs something physically touching him on the side to support him, or is he just a little lower-than-normal tone? My son is the latter, and we've loved the True Fit. He will be getting a Radian 80SL soon, though, for the 45lb RF limit. He has had a Chiari decompression, so those protective cervical bones just aren't there anymore, so RF is really high on my priority list for him.

If he's got a short torso and is chunky, a MyRide is fabulous for floppy babies. It has really good support and RF to 40lbs. It's just not as tall as the TF or MR.
