Contemplating the XTSL

I think I want one!

I was thinking about getting it before our cruse in december, b/c it will be easier to store in a tiny stateroom, plus if I HAVE to lug it anywhere, it would be easier than the TrueFit. Im seeing if I can convince my dad to get it for Levi as part of the 'pre-cruise shopping'. ;)

I was going to hold off until ds got a little bigger, sense he is only 23lbs now and super short, my origional idea was to get it when Levi is closer to outgrowing the TF RF, or when we have a second car that needs a carseat (right now I share a car with my mom, so one seat is all we need, but if we got another car for me, we'd need 2).

I dont NEED 2 carseats, so I dunno if I would sell the TF or not, if I didnt it would have to hang out in my closit.

Does anyone know how well it will install in a 2003 Jeep larado?

If I ordered it now, I could get it before December right? (seems like the TF took FOREVER to come, I guess I did pre-order it though).
Where is the best (ok cheepest) place to get it? Using my tech discount?
Which fabric is the least 'hot'?

Should I get it now or hold off? I guess I could get the Scenera instead, but I probably wouldnt need to use it for anything else. OR I could bring the Titan back from our trip to tahoe in a couple weeks, that would mean bringing 2 carseats back at once, or buying the CARES thing for the flight.

Kids n Cribs says they have them in stock. DD has the Nitro and it seems like it won't be hot. Hard to tell right now since it is cool out though :p I ordered from Diapers.com and it was fairly inexpensive comparitively. When I ordered it, I got it in my car in less than 24 hours :D I don't know the answer to the tech discount since I'm not a tech, sorry!

I understand, I too yearn for an xtsl, but honestly, with kids the size of ours, it seems a little unnecesary. On the growth curve, our kids can probably RF in a TF until they are like 6, LOL!!

That sounds good to me! I'd so keep him rearfacing even at that age, so far he thinks he is cool b/c he is the only one who gets to 'see the front of the cars' at the back (dont think he knows how the rearview mirror works yet!)
