so i replaced my 13mtouth olds defective car seat with a SR32/35 but i was thinking wouldn't be smarter to just return it and get a radian xtsl??? he still has about 3 inches of grow room above his head is only 21 pounds and we do still use the seat as a carrier :)eek:) sometimes. so WWYD save my money and get the xtsl or keep my SR35 and get the xtsl in a year or two??? just a tid bit he has grown an inch in 4-6 months.....

I would keep the carry. I missed it some much when my DD outgrow her snugride 22 because it was winter and so much easier to get her in the seat in the warm house and to just take the seat out of the car when she was sleeping.

At this point I would personally return it and get the XTSL if it works for your car, child and you can afford it.

We have a SS1 (the older version of the SR35, it goes to 30lbs) for my son in my mom's car but have moved him to the MyRide for comfort, mainly the angle. We leave the bucket seat in the car and have for a while because of the weight of the bucket plus DS (he is around 20lbs and has about 3 inches as well above his head).

However, if buying a XTSL is out of your price range and even with returning the SR35 it would be a hardship financially there are other options availble for less that are great convertibles (EFTA, MR, TF as well as others).

well i like the radian xtsl because of the weight limit. and the SR35 was put on my rus card and the radian would be put on my chase visa. so either way it is kinda out of my price range. i think craigslist is out of my range but safest is what i can afford. wasn't there a site with 1$ return shipping? i could get it try it out and if it doesn't work just return it:)crying: cause my dreams are crushed).

personally, I'd return it and get the RNXTSL. It will last you longer and I can't see you wanting to use the infant bucket that much longer, well I didn't like to use it once LO could sit, but that's just me:eek:

I agree that a convertible is a better choice for a 13mo, but if you have been using the SR35, please sell it on Craigslist instead of returning it if the seat is fine and you just changed your mind.

I'm against the grain here, but ah well... you're in colorado... I'd keep it and use it at least through the winter, then sell it on swap or craigslist and get a convertible seat at that time.

I was so over the bucket by the time DS was about 15lbs & 3 months, so I personally would sell (or return if you haven't used it) the SR & get the XT.

Hmm.. I loved my carrier in 2006 when it DUMPED snow here all winter. It was convinient. But Knowing what I know now and seeing crash test footage I would lean towards the RN simply for the RF tether considering what kind of winter we may have in store....

You know, I just realized you are not far from me at all :p

What do you drive? Do you know if a RN will fit? We can meet and you can try my RN80, DH works near Flatirons. PM if you are interested and I may even be able to help find a tether spot.

You don't *need* to tether (not teether) the Radian, but why not use a safety feature when it's available to you? And untethered (or w/o ARB) rear-facing seats will rebound. It's what they do.
