Today was our anual community garage sale day - so of course I had to go check out all the carseats for sale!
1st one was really old (kids are in there teens), I dont even know what the heck it is, looks liek a big grey box - they gave it too me free and its in my garage.
2nd place had 2 naked combo seats, both expired a couple years ago, and an old infant base. Dad went and got sissors and cut up the straps when I told him they werent safe :thumbsup: There other seat looked to be in great condition and was only a year old. Mom asked me about boosters for her 7yr old (who is still in one yay!), wanted more info on the 5step test and plans on keeping her in a booster until she passes it. Plus I got ds 2 melissa and doug toys there for $0.50!
another house had an expired infant seat, dad said he was going to donate leftovers but would toss it
another one had a NASTY convertable, watched them put it in their trash can - and I got Levi a scooter and a little wooden desk, and a puzzle $1 for all!
one more house had an almost expired infant seat (expires december), they said they'd toss it - I got Levi a wooden train there for $1 too!
across the street from them, they had an expired husky, said they bought it b/c they didnt think boosters were safe enough because their kids were small for their age, they used it until they got too big. Their younger son is 11 and they just took him out of a booster (he is plenty big enough to be ok in a seatbelt now). :thumbsup: They said they would toss the expired seat too
Very suprised at the good response to my carseat ramblings at people. They actually listened!
The only bad part was that while I was gone I had stuff from my garage taken, including my ds's new mega blocks set he just got a couple weeks ago and loves! AND even worse about 7-8 sets of handmade soft sole shoes that I spent HOURS making (um ok 3 days). I was sooo mad!
