RF tether in 02 Odyssey

I have an 02 Odyssey with my 4mo old behind the driver's seat in the outboard captain's chair. I moved the driver's seat all the way up and found an immobile bar (plastic over metal) that goes across the width of the seat near the floor. I attached the tether on the MA to that. When I moved the driver's seat back, it made the MA recline a little more, but not past 45 degrees. Is it an ok tether point? Because I couldn't find anything else to tether to.

From what I understand, this is an okay tether point, but you should change the way you did it a little bit... First move the seat back where you want it and then tighten the tether. That way the seat isn't pushing on the tether strap. Try to keep from moving the seat once it's all in place to prevent damage to the tether strap or the carseat.

Is this the tether spot that you would use ONLY for RFing? I ask because my Mom has a 2001 Ody and when I have my DS FF in his seat, I use the tether under the captain's chair that he is currently sitting in with his car seat KWIM?

It sounds like you're doing it right. The second row captain's chairs have the tether anchors underneath the seats, so if you have a FF car seat in one of them it goes under the headrest, through the handle on the back of the seat, and attaches to the anchor on the underside of the seat.
