I like the Avenue if travelling is all you're going to do with it. Cheap, tall, easy to carry, lightweight, and will last many kids to age 4 or so and 40 lbs. (by which point they could use just the belt in a plane, and something else, like the Ride Safer Travel Vest or SafeGuard GO once at the destination.)

The Cosco Scenera is cheaper but won't last quite as long.

The Combi Coccoro is a sweet little seat, very nice for travel, won't last as long as the Avenue but is a very nice seat, more expensive.

How old is the child who will be using it? I love our Uptown for planes, but it will sit very upright when RF. This obviously would not be good at all for a newborn. If your child has good head control, though, it shouldn't be a problem.

The Uptown, btw, is the previous version of the Avenue. They changed the cover and packaging, that's about it.
