did graco ever make up their minds--latch in booster mode?

I just realized I never heard the end of this one. Can the Nautilus be used with LATCH in booster mode, or no?

Depends who you ask. Some people have called and gotten the OK, others haven't.

After the TC crash test results with latched boosters, and the surprisingly good results with unlatched nautili's, I would lean towards not using latch (or only latching very loosely) even if they allow it. The latched boosters showed an increased abdominal load in FFing crashes.

They said that the official answer is yes to LATCH in booster mode, and clarification/an official statement would be forthcoming, but it hasn't; I will find the thread tomorrow evening if no one else has posted it by then (trying to argue kids to bed right now. ;) )

Wow, last I heard was that they said no, I didn't realize they flip flopped again.

I'm starting to think the monterey is the best of both worlds, latched for some benefit in a side impact crash but loose enough to not cause the lap belt to move up.

I think the last study they did, some performed better, some performed worse, and some performed the same. Of course I am not opposed to more research :)D) but I think there will never be just one answer as long as there are such widely differing designs in seats!
