I posted a thread a while back that some friends have 2 Indy's and really like them They are just Indy's, not the plus, no rigid LATCH. I found where I can order one......I'm considering it:).

Yesterday DD had a playdate with them, and we got to try it out. I REALLY like it. Despite not having LATCH it is really solid. adjustable (width) headwings and torso wings, smoooooooth adjust on the headrest. I forgot to check one thing though:

DD is pretty long legged. Does anyone know (or wanna measure) the seat depth??

Also the site that has them told me they are about 3 years old, but the family I know who bought them says they called JANE directly and were told the boosters have a 12 year expiry??

Anyone know??

I don't think that info on expiration is correct. I'm pretty sure they had a 6 or 7 year expiration but I'll check the manual to see if it says. I have a regular (non-LATCH) Indy and I think it's a great seat. I can measure it for you sometime this weekend. I know I have a bunch of pics of it somewhere too. I'll try to find those tomorrow. Right now I'm off to bed.

ETA: Depth is fairly shallow. I'm thinking it was around 12". But DS1 used this seat when he was 10 and never complained about being uncomfortable.

Our broken JIP is sitting in the living room, so the seat depth is 13.5", but begins tapering off at 12".

thanks guys!!

Hmmm, kinda shallow depth huh??

I was noticing that when we tried it, but DD was already out of it and I didn't want to make her get back in.......How's it compare to the TB?? The TB is like 14 right?? I was think that would be the shallowest we'd go, but I really do like the Jane.....

that would be great... I'm not sure I want to order one that is 3 years old already if it's 6 years.....they did say they called Jane directly though.....

I think ours came broken, but of course I didn't discover it until it was out of warranty. And, there's no way to get a new one anyway...

There are two plastic tabs that hold the headrest up (inside the seat), one of them is broken. One day the headrest would not stay in any position, but fully up and all the way down. On the up position, I pulled it out, and found the broken tab. And the missing tab explained the rattling noise that I heard inside it from the day I opened the box.

I don't think you could break a seat like this (replicate it), it'd be difficult to do. They're sturdy seats and I was shocked to find it broken. And, I just love the Indy. It's a great seat!

H is 56 inches tall now, and has a 26 inch inseam. She's got long legs, and loves her Indy. She thinks it's very comfortable.

NEVERMIND!! I just went to order and they're all sold out now:crying:

DD's really sad, it's taken us forever to find a booster she likes...:(
