How deep is a regent?

Okay...I got all ready to order my two regents. Then it occurred to me that I should double check measurements to make sure it will fit in my Mazda Tribute.

UM. NO.
Okay, height and width no problem. But depth, no. I looked on all the different websites and according to the Britax site, a Regent is 20.8Wx29.7Hx22.9D

22.9D is about 2 inches too much for the back seat.

Am I reading this right? No chance thats the size of the box and not of the seat, right?

If so, what else is there? GN? Frontier?

I just went out and measured my regent. Mine had an 18" depth and 20" width. I measured pretty quickly though. You may also get different depths depending on how the recline bar fits with your seat. Mine fits on a toyota camry seat and with the recline bar, it sticks off the seat somewhat, though not a great deal.

thank you so much! I went out and measured my FPSVD and realized that the measurement does include more than the "footprint" of the seat. The car's seat itself is 18" from the latch to the end of the seat. I wonder about the recline bar...hum...

I did read diapers.com return policy and it seems easy enough. Anyone had experience with this? I wonder if it matters that its a closeout item.

Also keep in mind that it fits differently once it's installed. You compress the vehicle seat while installing, which gives you more room. Also, up to 20% of the Regent's is allowed to overhang the front of the vehicle seat.

I think you'll be fine. The only time I've heard of this being a problem is in trucks with the absolutely miniscule bench seats in the back (I think they're closer to 10" deep.)
