Is third row seating safe?

I got a 06 durango for my bday with third row seating. I have thought about putting my son's regent in the third row, so we can actually use all the seats if needed. His seat sits on the seat that folds down to let you into the back seats. I have never used third row seating and it makes me a little nervous! Any opinions

Not sure about a Regent back there though (fit). I wonder if the 06 has the same seat depth as the older ones. Is your Regent pre-advisory or post-advisory?
