DD doesn't like change and isn't real thrilled with it. The harness was also irritating her neck:

Installation pictures: These pictures are intended to show how it fits into my 2003 Chrysler Town & Country without any help. They are not intended to show proper installation, as many of the pics show incorrect angles and such.

RF - There is a line on the side of the seat (hidden from camera by cover) that Safety 1st says should be level with the ground RF when you have the proper recline. This is how the seat looks when that line is level. (note the front seat has to be slid completely forward)

Here's resulting gap:

This shows the seat installed RF with nothing used to help recline the seat:

Can I just say WOW!

Also you just made up my mind for me. I will not be ordering this seat even though I usually have to at least lay hands on every new one at least once.

Niiiice. I was thinking you should have taken a pic of the headrest all the way up next to the regent, LOL ;)

It will be interesting to see what their booster version looks like in the future. To me-this looks like a Scenera with really expensive headwings.:twocents: They may save a child's life, I agree, but the seat itself is just wonky. I am glad I am out of the convertible market now, since, like Arly, I usually try every seat that is new:eek: I have a feeling I would have returned this one. Great photos:thumbsup:

It's really more like the AOE without a base. Possibly kind of like the Avenue. Really not much like the Scenera.

Wow! You really had nothing better to do today?? Great pics! I don't want one, but would take it if *I* won it :p

Thanks Big Daddy for taking the time to post all these pics! I really wanted to try one, but not so much now, lol. It's just not worth the price tag to me. I am like Arly and Yoshi where I usually like to try new seats when they come out, but I think this one will not be one of them.:p

Even with the head wings all the way up, the regent still towers above it. If the Regent had the natural recline that the CA does, then it might be a little closer.

There is energy absorbing foam on the headwings and the air protect technology. I don't know about comfort foam, though.

Huh. So is the energy absorbing foam only really necessary for the head? Never really thought about that before. Because most seats that have it have it over more surface area of the seat, do they not? Need to refresh my memory and peel the covers off my seats...

The BV is like this. It only has eps along the headwings. No where else. It does however have actual styrofoam padding for comfort behind the child and under the child's bum.

I'm glad I'm not the only one sitting here thinking this is an AO or Avenue with a few tweeks. Of course, we've always known that Dorel basically uses the same shell for all of their seats. They are all cousins, some first cousins (CA and Avenue), some more like third cousins (CA and Scenera). Other companies do the same things... Britax and it's cousins the MA, DC, and BV. I guess though, if I want to be honest, I think the CA is a wee bit overpriced with some pretty fancy marketing, and because it's Dorel it just rubs me the wrong way.

All that to say, if I won it I'd use it for a while. I'd give it a go...

Big Daddy, thanks for the awesome pics. They helped me to learn more about why I won't be buying a CA, lol. :p

ETA: holy smokes. look at how where the red recline handle would be on a AO, it's now just sort of emtpy. Like they left that component off, and voila, a new seat...

It's super like the Avenue (or Uptown, as I have one of each).UNlike the Uptown, though, I'm pretty sure the straps are better. I'm constantly untwisting the straps on the Uptown.

I like mine... I like my radians better, but I wanted a higher shell harness that I can get more upright... and DD had no more shell in the My Ride than she did in her Marathon. I still can't believe I paid what I did for it... believe it or not, I paid more for the #U$(@) than I did for my RN80, or my marathon for that matter. What was I thinking? I was swayed by the orange.

Is there no foam on that seat? Just a plastic shell and a cover?

Its just so....Dorel to me. :shrug-shoulders: And wow I knew it looked a lot like the Avenue, but the side by side really shows it hey? I saw one in store and it just seemed, uh....Dorel to me. (Sorry I can't come up with a better descriptor. Bare bones maybe? Flimsy?)

I would only buy one if it were the only seat that rear faced to 40lbs (which it is in Canada ATM), and if I had a child who fit RF.

Thanks for the pics BD!:)

ETA: Look at what we've done to Big Daddy. I can't help but wonder what his DW thinks of him doing a full photoshoot of a car seat today. :p

Awesome pictures!

I was actually surprised how much I like the CA when I got it. I bought it because of the recline issues I was having with the radian and my ds2's height, it was the only seat that would fit him to 40lbs that would work for us. But I did get it using the BRU trade in and only paid $200 for it, which is what I paid for my RN65 back in the day... Now I just want a pink and brown replacement cover to use when ds2 outgrows it and dd needs it to keep rfing (if ever, she's such a peanut!).
