Coccorro instead of a bucket?

Is the Cocorro a good substitute for a bucket? For someone who wants to skip the bucket, but sometimes wants to take the carseat out and in with baby in? Can it be installed with the baby in, tight enough and without too much trouble? Does it have the bucket feel for babie who hate the bucket but are okay in a convertible seat? It's such a cute seat but I haven't heard enough about it. SO I was just wondering these things.

I would not use it as a bucket seat. I can get the seat out very easily with my child in it (and daycare baby, who is 7 months and 15lb)... but no way can I get it installed well enough while the baby is still in the seat.

I use the seat with three different children on a daily basis and they seem to all fit very nicely in it. And, like the comfort. But, one child does not like the limited vision it provides her with (she has sensory integration issues) and she strains to look out the sides (not successfully of course - as she is in there nice and tight).

It is used daily in my 2007 8 seat Toyota Sienna.

what if you were using latch to install?? not sure how you are installing.

because if I had another baby, I'd want to do the same thing... skip infant bucket, but have the coccorro so that, for the occasional trip, I'd have the opption

I've taken the Coco out of my vehicle with DS in it twice. Once was switching from my Jeep to a bus at 4 am for a trip. (Oh, the fun!) and the other time was on vacation when he had just gone to sleep and really needed to stay asleep and there was no where else to put him anyway. (I was in a wedding- otherwise I would have just worn him!) It's pretty easy, IMO, with LATCH, but the seat isn't really easy to carry around since there's no handle or anything. The lap belt in the bus wasn't bad either, but not as easy as LATCH. A shouldebelt would be a little bit harder.

Honestly if you think you are going to want to take it out every once in a while I'd get an infant seat. The Coco (with Combi stroller that it fits) would be great for airplane travel or public transportation issues, but it's really not made to take in and out of a car to keep a baby asleep.

I use Latch and I just can't get the seat tight enough without putting my body in the carseat (can't really do that with the baby there)... but, I'm a bit of a car seat novice. I'm sure if I tried it more often I could get it...
