WWYD? Logan is creeping up to 40 pounds...

My inlaws have the Evenflo Chase for their car or we install one of our seats in there to use.
MIL just retired and plans on taking Logan once a week(or once every other week) for the day. She can not keep it installed in her car and I do not have time to install a seat for her every time(as I do daycare and can have up to 7 kids in my house minus logan).

She can not for the life of her install a carseat. He is 37-39 pounds(depending on if he eats much that day or not  ) It seems like he is holding steady at 38 pounds.

I put gym shoes, socks, jeans, and a long sleeve shirt and a sweatshirt on today and the kid weighed 40 pounds.

I am 100% sure he would sit perfect in a booster. He wants to use one so bad and is very mature for his age. He has used a booster few times in an emergency and sat perfect. He is not a normal almost 5 year old. Now, at 5 years old my now almost 7 year old would not of been ready.

So... WWYD? If you chose booster what seat would you use? She drives a 2009 Ford Escape(I think it has a middle lap and shoulder belt, so she could put him in the middle)

*Graco Turbooster (Fits him perfect)
*Britax Parkway(Fits him perfect)
*Buy a Britax Parkway SG

*I can't even believe I am considering this, but it is way better than an improperly installed carseat or my daycare kids killing each other when I am out installing the seat(3 are so attatched to me one hyperventilates if I leave the room so having MIL watch them is not an option and with winter coming there is no way I can bundle them all up when I am installing the seat). When it is nice out I can just have them go out with me and she can keep an eye on them with me there, but once weather gets crappy.....)

It's only two, maybe three times a month?

I say use the Turbo if you are comfortable with him being in it. :shrug-shoulders:

Thanks Becky!!

I am thinking about putting him in the turbo it fits him better than the parkway. I want to get him a parkway SG for these situations, but if he isn't 40 pounds I am not sure if I can use it. I mean he fluctuates.

Ditto, well, I would buy an sg. But I am weird.

That is what I want, but what if he is at the 37 pound range vs. the 40 pound range?

I think my MIL can figure out the SG... I think.. It took her forever to learn how to use Michael's turbooster(I swear she is a smart woman, just carseat challenged).

for the rare trip with grandma... I'd let him.

if he were not so mature, I'd give her permission to bribe him with lollipops, stickers, or grandma-made cookies.

plus, I think this is the perfect situation to use as booster training... he'll have the occasional use time to obey the booster rules

btw, I'd get the SG, if you can afford it.

I promise, grandma can learn... I know it's an extra step, but if she's already mastered using the basic booster, she can do it.
