It arrived today, that was fast!!

It looks awesome. I can't wait to install it, DS is going to be so stoked when he gets home from school this afternoon. To top it off we might stick it in the van for a 2 minute car ride to test it out too. We have been talk about using a booster and the safety issues etc for a lit while and I am excited to start training him to use it properly!

I will post some this evening!

It seems solid and well built. It installed well in the van.

I am still nervous about giving up the harness but if DS takes riding in it seriously and behaves I think I will learn to be ok with it.

I'm going to have to call and hassle Baby's World! I have a Parkway SG here waiting so I can compare the SG, Monterey and Oobr side-by-side-by-side :)

Here is the headrest basically exactly level with his shoulders.

Here is the headrest up one where it look like it should be

This last picture the belt at the shoulder looks a bit to close to his neck but it really does sit in the middle at the first picture shows.

The lap portion does rest nicely along his hips

What do you think!

The lapbelt looks like it was riding up a bit in the last photo?

Anyways-looks good overall. I have found that you do need the headrest up a full notch above the just above the shoulder area, because the front of those wings dip down that little bit and come into contact with the shoulders..furthermore, if you don't put it up a full notch so much of the top of the head is completely exposed and the wings look really low. I think they could've dropped that guide down a little bit--even 1cm or so--from the wing portion of the seat.

I have found that my son seems to sit really far forward in the seat, so I need to look into the recline situation for him. It's fine since he doesn't generally sleep in the car, but it looks slightly more exposed as compared to how the Monterey envelopes him. I think I figured that since the Oobr is such a massive seat, it would actually surround the child a bit more.. but all that plastic and metal takes up the vast majority of space.

I just got my Oobr today, so I'll have to take a look at it in the house tomorrow and re-read the manual. I'm also going to compare it to the Monterey and the Parkway SG--so we have the three "good" HBB options all side-by-side for evaluation.

Thus far, the thing that has shocked me most is the innovative design of the headrest adjustment. It's just like a vehicle headrest adjuster, and doesn't feel as cheesy and cheap as the other HBBs out there. After so many people had their Parkway adjusters break, this is a welcome change.

The big question is whether or not it's worth the $320-$350 pricetag. That remains to be seen.
