Need recommendation for convertible seat/ special child

Ok- here it goes, I need a convertible seat for a special needs infant. The baby is 7 month but small for her age (not sure about the stats but looks more like a 4 month old) the baby has a feeding tube and low upper muscle tone.
I do have a Marathon, and EFTA and two snugrides at home. The MA is being used which leaves the EFTA and the snugrides for use.
I can not stand the EFTA and will only use it if absolutely necessary. I would like a seat to "hug" her if possible. I do not like infant only seats because the base just scares me to death- I am always afraid that they will come off in a crash and will only use them for a emergency placement seat if I have to.
This child will be with us for some time to come and I am not too worried about the cost of the seat- I just want something that will keep her save and comfy in my car:)
Any suggestions?

My Ride maybe? I think it fits smaller babies well, and it seems to hug the child (especially with the infant insert).

The graco my ride is *wonderful* for low tone kids! DD has like zero tone (no head control, no torso strength) and scoliosis to boot. The MR is the only seat we've found (other than a bucket) that keeps her snuggled and straight.

I posted a little review of how it works for her:

The only thing is you may need to add some head support. I just stick a burp cloth under her chin and fold the rest up beside her head and that's plenty for her since she tends to just lean to her left side.

The EFTA was awful as far as support goes. The snugride would work. I still use the SS1 on occasion for DD and it works, but she's about to outgrow it. I prefer to use it baseless. Have you tried the snugride baseless? It's pretty easy to get in and out no matter what type of belt. For a locking seatbelt it's very simple and there's no issue with tipping if it locks at the retractor. For ELR belts I just put on a locking clip and leave it there. When I buckle it in, it's snug every time.

Thank you Shauna for the reply and the review on that the MyRide:thumbsup::) Your Charlie sounds almost like the little Angel I am going to get soon- we are starting the progress of moving her out of one foster home to mine:love:
I will go to Target the next couple of days and check out the MyRide !

Thanks bunches!!!!

I have a child with low tone also. I use the marathon which is the only seat that worked for him. It reclines enough that when he falls asleep he doesn't slump and when he is awake it supports him though out his hole body. He has been in this seat since he was 8 months old
