Help-How to nicely tell the parents

I just started watching some kids in my house and right now I am watching a 14 month old girl who is really small for her age. She's not 20lbs yet and they have her wearing 9 month clothes, so tiny. Today was only the second day of watching her and the dad was late so he was at my house when I got back from picking my DD up from school. I was able to see how she was buckled. I couldn't tell what kind of seat it was (maybe safety 1st, cosco) or how tight the seat was secured but the baby was FF and the straps were a good 2 inches above her shoulders (top slot) and straps were almost falling off her shoulders. How can I approach the dad? He is the one picking and dropping off. I had told them I have an extra to use in my van when I need to pick DD up from school and they didn't even ask what kind or anything about the seat. She is RF in my van and she had no problem with it. What can I do nicely since they just started?

"I was reading something online and I came across this info. Did you know that most seats are used wrong? You have to have the straps really tight! And it said that little kids should be rear-facing as long as possible!"

If you have a computer where they can see it, show them the video called "Rear facing is safer" on YouTube, too.
