I think I created an internet car seat consumer reports monster

I blogged about the CR test the other day. Lots of people read my blog, and always ask me about car seats. Before I even posted it, I was getting emails. By the end of the day, I had around 20. I imagine I've gotten over 40 emails or phone calls at this point from people panicking and begging me to reassure them. I direct some of them here, and basically tell them all pretty much the same thing.
Anyway, I posted this totally long blog post about it, all the inconsistencies, how severe those crash forces are, etc. Lots of people have emailed me thanking me for helping them figure it out, or mostly for helping them put a finger on the thing that they thought just didn't seem quite right. Apparently there ARE a lot of parents who had a funny feeling about these tests.

However the post is going everywhere like wildfire. My hits have tripled, and people are clicking a link to come to that post from everywhere. Lots of my friends have emailed me telling me that they saw it on this or that message board or newsletter. It's starting to freak me out a bit. It was originally my interpretation, and backed up with the interpretations of lots of people here, but I fear now that people are taking it as gospel. Should I add some kind of disclaimer, or what? I don't want to delete it, because I know that a lot of people are reading it and the information is basically the same thing we have all been saying here, just condensed and simplified somewhat. But I never expected this kind of reaction and it kind of freaks me out.

Yeah, I think I'd go ahead with a simple disclaimer like:
*Just for the record, while I do my best to be as accurate as possible, there may be mistakes in my info. I am not a certified technician or an expert in any way, just a car seat/safety freak who's always seeking knowledge to keep kids safe.*

Reworded as you see fit of course, just throwing that out to get your own creative juices flowin' ;)

I'd probably slap a disclaimer on there. just like I have one on my website that my childbirth information shouldn't be a substitute for medical consultation.
But I wanna see your blog, too. I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours! LOL

Why Kelly, I didn't know you thought of me that way... ;)

I did put a disclaimer. I'm not an expert, each crash is different, all RF properly used seats are very safe, etc.
