Finally tackled the Safeguard Go with a seatbelt

Imagine me in football gear, literally tackling a carseat...

Anyway, the Ford Escape is getting smaller by the minute...uh, or my kids are just growing way too much . The Radian was *ok* in the middle, but kind of ate into the bigger kids' shoulder space, and didn't really allow Leah as much leg/foot room as I'd like. So I was really mere minutes from ordering a Roundabout 50 (it's high, more foot room, and narrower by the shoulders for the big kids outside of it than the Radian) and thought I'd give the Go a shot, cuz I have one...free... Surprisingly, it worked. It wasn't actually too hard to get the belt set up, since I'm familiar with the reverse belt path (but no way would I want to be stuck in a Taxi doing that!!!!), and she has loads of shoulder room to grow taller
Here she is demonstrating her leg room... http://picasaweb.google.com/joolstag/LeahInCarseats#5388005386465900242
That seat next to her is a Strolee High Ride (Nania Topo)..I don't think it's made anymore, but it's super narrow, and fit better than the Olli.

Edit...update...6 weeks later, and it's still not tipping. I'm actually pretty amazed...and thrilled :). Though it's getting kind of funky from fast food crumbs and I might have to take it out and wash it and re-install it anyway...

Go Jools! :D Virtual Rep for you since I apparently need to spread the love of rep around, lol. She looks happy in it and I am kicking myself for not getting one of the red ones when they were on sale a while back.

Nice! Did you use a locking clip? I've found it doable (with some swearing) with a locking clip, not too hard with a locking latchplate, but A PAIN IN THE REAR if trying to use a switchable retractor.

Nope, no locking clip. It slides side to side a *tad*, but not forward at *all*, so I was happy. Knowing my crazy overzealous retractors, I'll be sure to post back if they yank the whole thing up to the side (like my poor, poor RF Scenera )

See, to get it tight with locking retractor at all, I've found it ends up way crooked. Not fun.

Just bumping for an update in the first post. And I guess it's more like 5 weeks later, not 6 weeks...still not tipping is not tipping!

I used a seatbelt in my CRV, it took a few goes to figure it out. I have LATCH, so I'll never need to use the seatbelt in my car. It's going to be DS's field trip car seat, and there is one other mother who I can trust to drive DS if I can't go. She has a top tether but no lower anchors. I'm going to try to get it installed on a play date to see if it will work, and then I'll have to install it for her on field trip days. If it doesn't work, I'll have to install either the Como or the Safeguard - she has a Saab wagon, so there's room, but both of those seats are beasts to move around.
