for a replacement but I no longer have the box and I'm not having any luck finding one that will work. Any suggestions?

U-haual and other moving stores should sell car seat sized boxes.

You could also ask your local big box stores if they have any boxes that may work for you. When I had to ship my ETA back to Evenflo, I found a box at Home Depot.

I've had Britax send me two replacement seats and they always sent me the new seat first and then I just used the box the one they sent me came in. Can you call back to ask for them to send first?

I posted once on craigslist that I was looking for a Marathon box and got one that same day for free.

They offered but asked for credit card information and I didn't want to share that info with them. Considering the difficulty I'm having, I may just take your advice.

I would trust Britax with my credit card #. IME, they will only charge the card if you do not return the seat within a reasonable time frame.

It wasn't a trust issue so much as I thought: "Eh.. won't be a big deal to find a box. I won't have to worry about any temporary holds being placed on my account." But I think I'll be calling tomorrow to request that they send the replacement first.

when i had to return my old MA, I gave my visa number, and they did not put a temporary hold on my card

If you really are concerned, give them a bogus number. They don't run it. Or at least they didn't last time they sent me a seat. I only know this because I gave them the number from an expired card and none of us caught it.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, everyone. I called yesterday and had them send the replacement. I'll just use that box to send mine back. The rep said there'd be a $25 hold on the card and that I had 30 days to return my current seat. Not a big deal at all.

Splash, they asked me for the expiration date on the card. :shrug-shoulders:

I asked if I was supposed to keep the cover and the rep said the person who set up the replacement "had the authority to make that call."

I would either 1) Call and talk to the rep that authorized the replacement. or 2) Just keep it and hope for the best. :D

I stripped my defective marathon before sending it back. Extra parts are always great to have around. Britax never said a word about it :)

I also stripped my seat before sending it back. I forgot to ask if I could but I knew a lot of people here kept everything. Anyway, they didn't say anything about it and I was never charged. :twocents:

Yep, strip it to the bones. They're just gonna trash everything anyway, no point not keeping it.

Yeah, they asked me the exp as well, and I gave it to them, fully expired. Just no one ever noticed. I didn't realize it until the new card arrived a few weeks later.
