It won me over...

The Recaro Signo. Now, I am a loyal Britax user, but I think I have to have a Signo. It is so plush and sturdy. DD looked so comfy in it.:D The harness adjuster is like butter. My only concern is the soft straps. Do they twist? I like seats that sit up on bases, so that doesn't bother me. Is the G2 worth the extra cost? I tried out the G2, but albeebaby has the regular for $150.

Our Signo's straps (1st gen. Signo) are more prone to twisting than our Britax convertibles, twisting every once in a while, but not nearly as bad as our Cosco Touriva used to twist, for comparison's sake. It has actually been a while since I've had to remove a twist from the Signo's harness. It seemed to get twisted more frequently when DD2 was rear facing vs. forward facing - she maxed out the Signo's 35 lb. RF weight limit about a year and a half ago. I have no idea if the G2 Signos have less twisty straps. Hopefully someone with one of the G2s can chime in for you on that. Didn't Splash just get a G2, or am I confused? ETA: Yep, she did just get one for Sammy: http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=99741

I have a G2, and I haven't really had a problem with straps twisting. I'm really careful though. I  my Signo. The main advantage for me with the G2 (besides the better DOM) is the new strap covers. They aren't huge and bulky like the ones on the original Signo (I actually didn't use those because they were awful)...these new ones are soft and bendable. I do like the new colors. But I think the differences aren't huge...so especially if money was an issue, I'd definitely go for the older Signo.

I had 2 Signos a while back and really loved them! Like you said, the harness adjustor is just like butter and the fabric is super cozy  I personally didn't have any problems with the straps twisting but what I did have problems with was the release bar on the latch connector (to make the strap longer) it stuck and became nearly impossible to lengthen which drove me nuts. But alas...it became just too cramped rf :(

I had 2 g1 como's and was ambivilant about them, had a fair share of issues with them but there were some things liked. I just got a G2 signo in the mail yeaserday after swearing off recaro and so far i LOVE it! it is I have the graphite, it is much more attractive in person than in the pictures, it fits my tiny 14m olds and my 95% 4 yearold with room to grow! i have to mesure those top slots because it looks like he has more room in it than his RN or his GN. he is also a very broad shouldered kid, did not fit well in the como at all but seems fine in the signo. personaly i would get the G2
they are also coming out with a pro line next year but the engineer and rep at recaro i talk to won't give me any details :(
i would be happy to post action shots if you want some
