    Where to look?

Here does everybody like to look for deals these days?

To flip or not to flip

The question is do I flip my 3yo forward facing, pass down his seats, and buy a dedicated booster for my 5yo, or do I leave the older two in their current seats and just buy a convertible for my baby? My middle is tiny, 29 lbs and 37" at 3y3m. He could rear face for a long time yet. Baby is big...

    Backless booster recs

Need suggestions for a backless booster as a spare for DD. She is 5.5yo, 52lbs, 46". We have a Bubblebum but it doesn't seem to be supportive enough and I often have to remind her not to put her knees up. She doesn't have an issue riding in booster mode in her Frontier90. Cars it's most likely...

    Lowest price for Keyfit?

I'm torn between getting a Keyfit30 or Snugride30 for baby due in Sept. Price is the main issue. We had a Keyfit with DD and I loved it. I doubt baby will be in the seat for a year. I obviously have some time to hunt a deal. Sooooo… What's the best price you've seen for a Keyfit? Or should I...

Flying with baby who hates car seat

I know it is very strongly recommended to buy seats for infants on airplanes. My question is, how do you handle a baby who hates the car seat? When DD was 4 months old, we flew to Disney World (we're from CA, so cross country). I didn't buy a seat for her at the time, but one of our 4 flights...

Frontier 90 Click Tight not clicking

Yesterday we were picking up our minivan from the mechanic. I took DD's Frontier90 out of the loaner car and put it in our van, where it refused to click down. The panel that is supposed to go over the seatbelt won't lock in place. It seems that the pieces you squeeze together to release the...

    2006 Honda Odyssey

Assuming a trusted mechanic checked it out and pronounced it sound, would you purchase a 2006 Honda Odyssey with 127k miles on it? We sold the truck today and I'm looking for good options for minivans.

Buying a used minivan - what do I look for?

We are selling our truck and buying a used minivan. Since it needs to be used, we will be limited by what we can find in our area at the time we are ready to buy. Any suggestions on what to look for/avoid? We'll be looking around $10k and while I know Odysseys and Siennas seem to be car seat...

    Mini van removable back seat?

I think we are going to sell our truck and buy a mini van. One of the things that has me hesitating is that my parents borrow our truck a couple times a year to take product to street fairs. They helped us buy our truck with the stipulation that they could use it, and I want to be able to...

    3 across Nissan Versa

I know this is going to be tricky, but come September I will need to have 3 across in our '11 Nissan Versa. The Versa is my husband's commuter as well as our family vehicle. When he's at work I drive a Toyota Tundra, no problems with 3 across there! 4.5yo (will be 5) is 43lbs and 43" and is...

Best deal for a Frontier 90?

I need to replace DD's seat. I narrowed it down to either the Pioneer or the Frontier 90, but as she is demanding a pink seat, it looks like we'll be getting a Cactus Blossoms Frontier. I need it pretty quickly as it will be replacing a crashed seat. Anybody know of any deals?

Anybody know if 2 S4M will puzzle next to each other?

We bought a S4M for my baby a couple weeks ago. I love it! I stuck DD in it and realized she has 3.5" of growing room forward facing in it. Anybody know if 2 of them will puzzle next to each other? It would be nice to maintain the third seat in our car, plus we plan to add another baby in the...

Forward facing seat and thinking ahead

I can't decide what to do for a new seat for DD. We have just turned her ffing. She has a 15" torso and weighs 37-38 lbs, fully dressed. My main concern is that she is such an active, squirrelly child, I doubt she'll be ready for a booster until she's like 7. If she grows an average of an inch...

How straight does a seat need to be?

I tried the MySize out in our Nissan Versa over the weekend and I think I like it. I could even get it outboard next to our RA50, if the MySize was skewed at an angle. I was surprised at how tight it was in, given the angle. Does a seat need to sit straight on the vehicle seat or is it ok for it...

    Size4Me?

What's the verdict on the Size4Me? Is it a decent seat? We flipped DD on Monday and by Thursday she was begging to go back rfing. She only has 1/2" in her MyRide, which was originally purchased for use in a larger vehicle. Our long distance vehicle is a 2012 Nissan Versa, so we have lots of...

Communicating with a rear facing kid

Somebody mentioned on a thread a few weeks ago and it got me wondering: how do you all communicate with your rear facers? Ginny turned 3 in July. She is extremely soft spoken and I always struggle to hear what she has to say. This frustrates her to no end, as she has lots to say and and is...

    Would you trust this seat?

So my best friend has just started doing day care for my nephew. SIL gave her a Radian 65 (DOM 6/07) that she says was given to her by her fiancee's uncle who used to work for the sheriff station. Supposedly it came from a seat giveaway, but I'm unclear on the details, whether it was actually a...

Throwing in the towel on our car

Our '03 Elantra blew a head gasket this morning. Rather then sink at least $1500 worth of repairs into it when we know it needs $500+ of other repairs as well, we've decided to donate the car to a local charity and get something else. Of course, we hadn't planned on needing something new so soon...

    Target online sales this week

Target.com has the Roundabout 50 in Kathryn for $100 this week and several different Graco travel systems on sale as well. They also have what look like shower cap style carrier covers for about $16-20 apiece.

Shell height on EFTA and Onside Air?

According to the data sheets on this site, the EFTA and the Onside Air have very similar shell heights. Is this really the case? It's always mentioned how the EFTA has such a tall shell, but according to the data sheets, the Myride and MA65 have taller shells.
