    Question Arm me with evidence

About an hour ago, I was putting in a friends car seat back in her car since we had taken it out to get under the seat. As I was putting it back in she mentioned that it was time to get her DD a booster seat. Her DD is a just turned four, maybe 30lbs, still fits in a Scenera, little girl. I said...

    Question Shoulder belt only?

This probably isn't very safe is it? Part of me doesn't even want to know. I'm riding in the passenger seat of a 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit right now, and the seatbelts are shoulder belts only. I ride in this car frequently. It is the more reliable of our two vehicles and gets much better mileage...

Seats with the RF belt path like baseless infant seats.

I hope that's a clear enough explanation. The seatbelt goes through the belt guide things instead of through a belt path inside the seat. Are they all expired?

Is Mia Moda giving it another shot?

Someone asked about the Mia Moda Viva Supreme on another website I frequent today. I told them it was recalled (the link in their original post was definitely the Viva Supreme), but they said they'd just seen it on the Sears website too. So, I had to go check it out. Sure enough, Mia Moda Certo...

Any clue what this could be?

My assistant director at work got a foster care placement the other day. I walked in the door and she was getting ready to leave, and had the younger child in the infant seat. As soon as she saw me she pointed to the car seat and said "Is this a good one? It's just what they gave me to use."...

CPST's (or car seat knowledgable) w/out children

I'm not sure if this would go here or not, sorry. I'm just wondering, how many of you are CPST's (or just "car seat enthusiasts", as my DH calls it) without children? I currently have no kids of my own (we're TTC), but I've spend a lot of time lurking around here and researching car seat...

Question Trying to make progress... any advice?

Well, I wish I could say I was looking for advice on how to get parents to rear-face PAST one year... In the last few days I've seen at least 3 infants under a year old (about 10 months old) forward facing at the daycare I work at. Thursday night I talked to a parent, and informed her of the 1...

Maxi Cosi Mico vs. Mia Moda Viva Supreme

A few months ago I told my friend that I would buy her carseat for her new baby. Things were better then money-wise but now they're kinda tight, so my budget is smaller than I planned. I don't want to back out of this deal because I know she'll end up with the same Evenflo bucket that everyone...

MyRide insert with 2 slots (pics)

I just got my replacement cover from Graco, and I got the insert with the two harness slots. Just thought I'd stop by and post some pics because I hadn't seen any around yet.

Tech's in Iowa (or anywhere), why should I get certified?

Hi! My name is Megan, long time lurker here, infrequent poster. Sometime around a year ago, I developed a fascination with car seats. I've spend a lot of time reading here and doing research on my own and I've learned quite a bit. I've tossed around the idea of getting certified for a while now...

Does this need to be replaced?

I was riding in the backseat of my friends car today, and fiddling with her carseat as usual. She has a Cosco Harnessed Booster. The crotch strap has what I would call a rip in it. It bothers me at least, so I thought I'd check it out here. (Also, I needed a reason to post again and start...

Do any of the MyRide covers stay on? (and a question for anyone in the DFW area).

Hi. I've been lurking here for quite a while, but haven't had much to post about until now. I've read about people having issues with the Spiral MyRide covers popping off. Mine does the exact same thing. Its sitting in my living room right now and I swear the thing pops off if I look at it...

The MR65 isn't "huge" is it?

So, DH let me buy a MyRide the other day... just to "play with". We don't have children yet, and this is the first seat i've tried RF in my car other than a bucket. Long story short, there's no way this thing fits. I installed it behind my seat (which is up really far anyway), and it put my seat...

    what am i doing wrong?

Hi! I've been lurking here for quite a while, and I think I've posted here a few times. I've learned a lot in my time here, and I plan on taking the CPST course sometime in the near future. A couple of weeks ago I picked up an expired Evenflo On My Way at a garage sale for 2 bucks, and an...
