Car Seat Laws Changing

In California, as of January 1, 2002, the law will change from 4 years or 40 pounds, to 6 years or 60 pounds for a child to be out of a car seat. I'm writing an article for the Girl Scouts, and wonder if the laws are changing in your states as well. Please let me know!
Thanks, Hm2Craft @aol.com

Illinois Law on Child Restraints

Currently, only children under 6 are required to be in a childseat or seatbelts in the rear seat. A new bill is waiting for the governor's approval. If he signs it before September 30th, Illinois is eligible for significant federal grant money.
