Turning MA FF

My daughter was 32 lbs. when we went for her check up last week. I've resigned myself to the fact that I have to turn her MA FF, but am a little confused. First of all, do I put the harness straps in the slots above her shoulders or the very top ones? Also, her 2 MA are going to be installed in a 2000 Ford Expedition and a 2000 Dodge Caravan - how do I tether the seat - do I use the "d-ring" that I use now and just attach it to the back seats (she'll be in the middle row). Thank you in advance for any help.

Hello-

You should use the harness slots that are at the level of her shoulders or above. All slots on the Marathon are reinforced and may be used for front-facing.

You should not use your d-ring for front-facing. You would attach the tether hook directly to an anchor. Chrysler will install at least one top tether anchor in your vehicle, free of charge. Some dealers may not be aware of this policy or may try to charge you anyway. If so, call the manufacturer since the dealer is paid by the manufacturer to do this service for free. Or, find another dealer:) The part number for the second row of the 2000 Grand Caravan is 04864118AB. For the third row it is 05018506AA.

My manual indicates your 2000 Expedition should have webbing loops on the back of some seating positions for use as a tether anchor. Please check the owner's manual for details on their use.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I just got off the phone with my Dodge dealer, and they'll be installing the top tether anchor next week. Will have to look at my Mom's Expedition manual when I see her. Thanks again - I'm so glad I found this website!
