The Clek Oobr (and backless boosters) all Diono boosters, all Evenflo boosters, all Graco boosters, the Nuna Aace and all current Peg Perego boosters may be used with inflatable seatbelts.

I have no experience with any of these brands, only Britax. Which is the safest tested brand? I’ve seen the consumer reports test on the Britax fro ntier in which it failed in harness mode. Would it be safe to say it would’ve fine in booster mode with a lap belt instead of the harness?

Our daughter is 6, soon to be 7. She is 49” and 55 pounds. She would like to stay in a 5 point harness but I’m not sure that is safest after reviewing the consumer reports test in which the britax frontier failed. I presume it is safe in seat belt mode. Im not very comfortable with the Highpoint britax booster with only foam and not the reinforced steel frame. The new grow with you does not allow inflatable seat belts. Any other seats comparable in safety and build to britax. I’m not sure I like the boosters that concert to backless, seems anywhere you can bend or remove a part could represent a weak spot in an accident?

no newest generation Britax seats including the Highpoint allow inflatable belt use.

I assure you, boosters with a removable back lock securely. The job of a booster is to position the belt correctly. At nearly 7 your daughter should be very safe in a booster, as long as the booster you choose positions the belt well and she understands she must sit still at all times.

There's no evidence steel frames are better than plastic and/or foam. In fact in crash tests we've got access to, some plastic only seats outperform some metal frame seats. They're all doing the same job of energy management (and for boosters belt positioning) just in different ways.

That said if you like a heavy substantial booster seat, Clek and Peg Perego are good brands to look at. Be aware some kids need additional foot support (a foam cooler works great) especially in the Clek seats to be comfortable and not slouch.
