baby universe lowered their prices

Does anyone have any idea how quickly Baby Universe is shipping orders? I bought a Barrington BV yesterday morning and my CC was charged but my order status has been listed at "Being Processed" since mid-morning yesterday. They say that means my order at the warehouse, awaiting shipment. C'mon and ship my seat already, BU!

Also, do we know where their warehouse is located and whether they tend to always use DHL for carseats? I'm going to my visit my parents next week, so I had my seat shipped to their place. But now I'm worried that BU is dragging their heels and won't get my seat delivered before I have to drive back home (300+ miles). If I have to make a special trip back just to pick up my carseat, I'll spend as much $$$ on gas as I saved in this sale. Gah! Why did the sale have to happen the week before my trip?? Life is so complicated sometimes....

I ordered the seats friday morning, they shipped 2 hours later and I had them Monday morning. I am in MN.

I wonder is they are slowing down because of all the orders though?

ETA: According the the tracking thing the orders were supposed to arrive between the 28th and the 5th of March, i was surprised when they showed up, I hadn't even checked the tracking info yet after getting the intial estimates.

My biggest worry is that my mom lives out in the boonies in Northern WI and delivery companies tend to sit on her shipments (in either Eau Claire or Duluth) until they have enough other packages to justify sending a truck to her area.

When I placed my order yesterday, BU gave me a shipping estimate of March 5 - 11. I'll be there until the 10th and I'm just praying it shows up earlier rather than later.

I ordered my seats on Friday 2/22, so I wasn't surprised they didn't ship out until Monday 2/25. So really, they shipped mine the next business day.

Their delivery estimates on their order status page reflect their typical processing time plus typical DHL delivery time. So the range is a week long. . . you may definitely get it sooner (or later) than the range.

Did I ever mention DHL sucks? I hate DHL with a passion, particulary for residential service because they partner with USPS. It just adds several days and more confusion to the whole process. I work in an industry that does a ton of shipping and we had DHL for a very short while. . but they sucked so bad we broke our contract with them.

Sorry to vent! It's unrelated to the two Regents they have of mine!

What freaks me out about DHL is that my mom lives out on a rural highway that doesn't have residential mail service. Her mail goes to a PO box in town. So if DHL hands the box off to USPS, I don't know if it will go to the little podunk post office or if they'll just say "Oh, we don't ship to PO boxes!" and send it back to BU.

Aaargh. The more I think about it, the worse it all sounds...

I live in a very rural area and DHL delivered to my door:) They are coming again next week. Don't worry - all will be well!

Did you give your mom's street address for delivery?

What'll happen is the post office will leave a slip of paper in her mailbox telling her she has a delivery, then she has to go to the post office and pick the boxes up.

It just depends how it was shipped. My order status says "DHL with USPS" or something like that. If it's straight DHL with no mention of USPS, then DHL will bring it to the street address. I've had stuff shipped both ways in the past.

It all works out in the end, I just think DHL is a horrid shipping company. Like, my tracking info hasn't updated in, oh, 2 days. But I know it'll show up because it always does. . .then days later the page will finally say it was delivered.

Yeah...I only gave them her street address. I left out the PO box number because that usually just messes things up. UPS and FedEx deliver to her door all the time (she's a QVC junkie ) but I don't know about DHL. I guess I'm gonna find out because I just got the shipment confirmation and that's who BU used.

Yeah, its really handy when the tracking info goes from "Origin Scan" directly to "Package Delivered" with no updates in between. Makes you wonder why they even bother. Hopefully, my package isn't going to make a detour through the PO because the shipping info doesn't say anything about USPS.

Now I just need to keep all my digits crossed that it makes it to the northwoods before next Friday.

I've had horrible experience with DHL. I live in a fairly rural town. They always pass it on to USPS who always leaves me a note that it can be picked up from the post office. They always want me there to sign for it, even though I have a signature card on file with the post office stating they can leave packages on my porch. For some reason, and package sent through USPS they will leave on my porch. But, if they are acting as the deliverer for DHL, they will not do it! It is so frustrating because out post office is not open on Saturdays at all! And, I work an hour and a half away from my town. There is no way I can get there by 5:00 to pick it up!
