Apologies everyone for the issues and for your patience. Something I did yesterday must have messed something up. I wish this mobile style wasn't necessary, but as of April 21st, Google will slam search results for sites that don't have a mobile friendly appearance.

I could upgrade, but my concern is that vBulletin 4 may not be much better than this vBulletin 3 solution in terms of automatic selection of the mobile style. I am testing it at www.car-seat.co . Members from last year should be able to login with an older password there. You are all welcome to leave feedback on it. vBulletin 4 retains many forum features like iTrader and "Thanks", but still uses a similar mobile style selector like the current one. The latest vBulletin 5 uses a mobile responsive style that does not require switching, but it still has a lot of issues and would be much different overall, plus it would lose some third party features like iTrader and "Thanks".

I've put this off for years because I know people don't like change, but it really is down to the wire now. I am still seeking other options, including something that will help permanently override the mobile style which I hope to have implemented this month. If these fixes don't work, I will be upgrading to vBulletin 4 as soon as possible. Many styles will be lost in that process, at least temporarily.

I reverted all of yesterday's changes a few minutes ago, even though they shouldn't have affected this. I hope this will help.

I do note that if you are on the mobile style and click "Full Desktop Site", it will take you to the default destktop style with sidebar, regardless of any other preference set in your User CP. That is a direct link to the default style and will override other settings for that session. To force the change back to your preferred style, you could instead use one of the direct style links below.

Clicking that link ( http://www.car-seat.org/?styleid=65 ) AND having the no sidebar style set in your User CP should do it.

For anyone still having issues, try using one of the direct links below to reset your style preference. If you still have issues, please try all 3 steps in this full procedure:

1) clearing cache and cookies. https://kb.iu.edu/d/ahic or https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?hl=en

2) Then make sure you have your preferred style selected at the bottom miscellaneous section in your User CP Edit Options: http://www.car-seat.org/profile.php?do=editoptions .

3) Then make sure to use the style selector at the bottom of the page to go to you preferred style, or use a link below. This should only be needed once, but you could also bookmark the link if you wish to make sure:

What device and browser are you using? What is your preferred skin?

This fixed it for a few hours, but then just now it went back to mobile, and after I clicked out of mobile, sidebar.

If you followed all 3 steps and it still went back to mobile again, you will probably have to wait until I can have the developer put in the fix to manually override mobile selection for registered members. In the mean time try using the no sidebar link above and replace your current bookmark with it.

I swear I posted this yesterday, but clicking that link is what fixes it for a few hours.

I swear I posted this yesterday, but clicking that link is what fixes it for a few hours.

It is supposed to override it permanently but apparently is buggy for some clients. The upcoming fix will resolve this. The developer will put a user profile selection to permanently override the mobile style selector. When a member selects this option, the mobile style selector will be completely disabled for all devices upon login. Members could still choose the mobile style or any other style manually, though.

Just an heads up.. Chrome on the laptop and I am still good from yesterdays link click.

Please let me know if it happens again.

For anyone having issues with styles right now, can you please also include the "User Agent String" in large print in the box at the top of this page:

Still having this issue as well as having to manually select the full site every visit. Any estimated time on a fix? :)

Would you please test this fix?

It will only work if you are logged in, and it will bypass the automatic detection system on ALL your devices. You can still manually choose the mobile style of course, or any other. If/when the cookies for the device you are using expire or are cleared, it may then revert to the selection you made in your User CP.

1) Make sure you have your preferred style selected at the bottom miscellaneous section in your UserCP: Control Panel -> Edit Options -> Miscellaneous Options or- http://www.car-seat.org/profile.php?do=editoptions

2) Go to User Control Panel ->Edit Your Details -> Disable Automatic Mobile Style Selection or http://www.car-seat.org/profile.php?do=editprofile (at the bottom)

3) Set to "YES = Bypass" and Save Changes

4) Clear cache and cookies. https://kb.iu.edu/d/ahic or https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?hl=en

5) Then make sure to use the style selector at the bottom of the page to go to your preferred style that you also selected above, or use a link below. This should only be needed once more to make it stick, but you could also bookmark the link if you wish to make sure:

Default http://www.car-seat.org/index.php?styleid=18

No Sidebar http://www.car-seat.org/index.php?styleid=65

Fixed Width http://www.car-seat.org/index.php?styleid=51

You may have to repeat the procedure on your phone, if not all of it, at least the last step of clicking the link for the style you want.

what kind of phone? Seems to work fine on my android samsung note 2, but haven't tried an iphone yet. I wonder if some phones handle cookies differently and are ignoring that setting.
